Anybody else switching to iOS until they stop ruining Android

Hello Team,

Is anybody else switching to iOS until manufactures and carriers(Verizon), stop utterly ruining phones by installing bloatware and copies of google services that aren't as good(samsung). As much as I like android its getting frustrating that all the devices must at least be rooted before you can even make your phone usable. I think that google should do something because its really ruining the android experience.

You do have the option to buy Android phones that DONT have carrier bloatware or useless services. Just buy Nexus or Google edition phones. I think the new "Android Silver Project" will help with this too.

Definitely will come back to iOS with the iphone 6. Selling my iphone 5 and switching to g2 is the biggest mistake I made this year in terms of gadgets.

In iOS I never use Game Center, Passbook, Reminders, Weather, News Stand, or Stocks. I don't need the Contacts app either, as the same thing is available within the phone app. If you don't use Safari, you can't delete that either. Tell me the difference between Android bloatware and Apple bloatware?

No manufacturer or carrier bloatware on my Moto G. in fact, no carrier. I don't understand people who don't buy unlocked phones. I just put in whichever sim I want to, whatever I've got lying around.

I'll stick with both Android and iOS.

Jesus, Americans. My goal is to go iOS only, but I'm an Android user for years to come. Android is perfectly fine for basic usage (texts, facebook, chats, twitter, web browsing, etc.). I don't need a 700€ device for that.

I will buy it when I work for it and it "pays itself". Until then a "clean" (cyanogenmod, AOSP) phone with any dual core and 1 GB of RAM is enough for me, especially because my MBAir is so awesome I only use my phone for making calls.

There is no carrier stuff on iOS. That is bloat ware. If your definition of bloat ware is apps you can't remove that you then every operating system in the world has bloat ware. Some apps/programs are just locked down.

So IMO, iOS has no bloat ware even though I don't use the maps app and can't remove it as one example.

That is the difference, verizon does not add additional apps to IOS. And IOS does not beg or entice you to further part with your money with come-on apps.

I have been on Android phones for over 3 years and finally made the switch to ioS, but for different reasons than bloatware and the reasons aren't even necessarily Android's fault.

I just realized after a while that the openness was more of a distraction to me than a benefit. I became so obsessed with trying different ROM's and other tweaks that I wasn't using my phone for the right reasons anymore. I would miss calls because I was installing different ROM's or tweaks, just not worth it anymore.

The size of the iPhone 5s is a little tough to get used to but the 4.7" iPhone 6 will be perfect.

You do know that there is this thing called a 'choice'. You can 'choose' to go and buy a subsidized, bloatware filled (and logo stamps all over the phone) Verizon Android phone OR you can choose to buy a no contract, unlocked phone from Google or Moto X that has no bloatware.
Funny thing about choice is, you have to choose to use it.

Nope, I(and anyone) can easily permanently disable any carrier bloat and I like Samsung's Touch Wiz, it's never been a hassle for me and remains bug free 99% percent of my usage. Sure pure Android seems smoother, but I'm not some OCD freak.
