As a matter of fact I upsized. My 5s works well, fits in my pocket but is frustratingly small. My 6s works well but I wanted an upgrade. So I got a max and so far like it. No headaches from pwm thus far..

Xr fits fine in my pocket, my wife is 5 feet tall and she is fine with the Xr as well. She puts it in her jeans pocket. Wouldn't go back to smaller phone.

iPhone physical sizes haven't increased since 2014 with the release of the Plus phones, so I'm not sure why this would be a new phenomenon for discussion.

I haven't had any issues pocketing a Plus or XS Max (always in a front pocket). The extra screen real estate has been something I really enjoy, however.

I would love a smaller iPhone. I think the XR is a beautiful design and have no issue with the bezels or thickness but the width is too big for me. I’m happy with my 7 but ideally I would go smaller.

I don’t wear skinny jeans and my max fits my pocket just fine. I haven’t had a small phone since my blackberry

Went from the 6 plus to the regular 8 and hated it. Own the XR and much happier being back on a larger screen and much longer battery life. The XR does fit better in my pockets than my 6 plus, while showing more than the 6 plus!
:D

I know, I was surprised it wasn’t more than that based on how it feels to me. It could also be that the phone is a lot thicker, especially when adding a case.

I hate cases but unfortunately they're somewhat of a necessity for me because I find these phones to be slippery. My 6s is like handling a bar of soap so I threw a thin case on it that fortunately doesn't add too much bulk. Is the Xr slippery without a case?
