I take mine everywhere with me and play.
1- when your Internet surrounds, DO NOT shut or close out your game at anytime when your in an area that has no signal or Internet service. If you do you will loose the game. Your points will still add up. Some of your business offer free Internet service. I take mine everywhere and keep playing , even at ballgames etc. And what ever you do, don't let it get in the hands of kids or significant other or u will loose the game for sure......WARNING.....HANDS OFF.....LOL LOL

Thanks for this reply. it's pretty clear. i don't want to sell any businesses, but I'd like to sell subway stops (-8K population), so that would take me from like 238, to 230K.
---> Yes, your population will drop to 230K IF you do not own any Wonders. Remember, if you have a Wonder that gives +20%, the population loss will be 8K +20%, or 9,600 and each additional SE will make the deduction greater.

The last threshold (for a new business) was at 237. Will that still be the new threshold, or will the threshold stay at the previously higer one - 267K?
Does my question make sense? I really want to know if the threshold gets lowered as you sell non business stuff below the last one.
---> I'm not entirely understanding your question...but I'll try to answer...If your population drops to lower than the next level you will need to build it back up to the specified level before you can buy the next business.
As far as I can see, the thresholds are independent of what the players do, since by buying and selling items, the players' pop will go up and down.

A simplified example: Each business unlocks at X population count.
10 pop unlocks business #1
20 pop unlocks business #2
30 pop unlocks business #3

A. You own business #1 only. You have an item that gave you 5 for a total of 20. By selling it, your pop is reduced to 15. You will need to build up your pop back to 20 to be able to buy #2.

B. If you already own business #1 and #2, even if your pop drops below 20, it appears you will still own business #2. But to buy business #3, you must have 30 pop. So the threshold for #3 does not change.

Now, please understand, I know A. is correct because I've done it. BUT B. is only a theory. Please be careful--I'm only sharing what I think I've observed so far. I have not yet reduced my population to such a degree to test this theory. If you choose to sell off anything, it's completely up to you.

I think most of it comes down to a deficiency of balance in the game. I have no doubt that Booyah folks have visited this forum. Whether or not they care about a topic of discussion is another story.

2) 5 gifts a day do not go far. I'm sure most players want more than 5. By the way, does anyone think that the victorian homes look a bit like mausoleums when the town is zoomed out. Sorry for the bit of morbid observation. When I visited Barracuda Bay, I thought you had a cemetery at first.

3) I get ignored here all the time. I guess I'm used to it.
But, out of curiosity, I'll franchise one of her businesses with a few bucks. I don't have much, but I'm willing to do a little experiment. All I ask in return is to know the amount of bucks received for my franchising. That's it. It'll be franchised by my town, Nyteowl City.

In other news...
There are some people who asked about GAME TESTER. That town belongs to user, No1Stez, on this board. The town used to be called Stez City. You know, the player Ashley2021 was frustrated with for "cheating" his way up to the top of the leaderboard... Stez has since notched it way down.

I just franchised a Trader Joe's from your town. Cost was 60 bucks for the 493 popularity, level 7 business. I would like to know how many bucks you received on your end.

I did go back to check the popularity level of the business, and it has gone up to 513, so 20-points for becoming franchised.

Anyway the pop up box asks if you want to. Upgrade to the next level which uses the bucks....ex. 1 buck, 5 bucks, 20 bucks, and on up till 10/completed level.

I was looking thru my decoration section and there was 2 boxes with a red dot up in the corner.....

Danielle is a bit tied up at work so I'll answer this one. She got 7 bucks. So by my estimate, a person gets 10% of the purchase price in bucks, capped at a max of 50 bucks. It is a much higher payout in coins...seems to be about 25%, with no cap.

Also, I did get some new gifts from unexpected parties today...you all get gifted back, just realize that with only 5 gifts to give out, I will have to spread out the return gifts.

Can kiss, thanks for response to my thread. Would be cool for other members to join in. I know some have suggested an inventory box to store specialty holiday items that people may only want to display seasonally, and that is a great idea! We need more of them.

Am so sorry about posting 1084......I went back to catch up and I typed llke I had been on a drunk.....LOL.....just couldnt kep eyes open.....sorry. I took a cat nap and typed some more.
Anyway what I was trying to tell you was that when you get a new business, the small square screen with the timers pops up and at the bottom it asks you if you want to "update" to the next level using x amt of bucks? That is what I am complaining about. Even if I wanted to buy another business, I couldn't level up (1-10) because I have no buck to help me or anybody else out!
Q-If I franchise someone in my local area,(Booyah has sent me back to my
original destination of So. IL/West Ky/ SoE Mo. area)( Elizabethtown, IL to be exact.) I would buy that franchise with coins. If I went to upgrade/level up, (1-10 levels) would my update screen show coins instead of buck to upgrade with?

I am trying to get the word out so other gammers might find me . I looked at 4 town within a 70 mi radius. I can use coins but there are just a handful of franchises, with most being from 1000-35. Low poularity. I want to maybe think the gammers are unaware about macrumor Forum or they might be in here.....I am just guessing.
I am sorry I cannot help anyone at this point because I have 6 bucks (I thank mayors that have sent them to me..... ) The other I use to upgrade to higher levels or I might buy a space dock gizmo if I get enough collected. I am kinda like a sitting duck on helping anyone one out. Please send out the word about the forum.......GREAT PLACE.....

and btw I dont buy any items anymore which are related to special events...because once the event over, you have to sell it with lost....we would need an inventory to stock the items we bought, that would be much better!

Thanks for the info. Following the 10% estimation, then franchising at a cost of around 500 bucks should yield the franchiser 50 bucks.

One more experiment. I'm not buck rich, but it'd be nice to know the lowest spending threshold for the franchiser to receive the max bucks. If anyone has a business with a popularity of about 4150-4200, then let me know. Thanks.
