I like the ST TOS reference of your forum name. Are you a Trekkie? I am old enough that I remember watching the original series. Most definitely - also at 84% battery health. While I liked the bigger screen size initially, turning on the hotspot feature and using my iPad mini has been a bit more convenient in most situations. That, the fact my wife’s 16 feels a bit better in the hand and the fact this is the *last* device in my house to still use the lightning connection does have me pondering an upgrade though
Nope. I like to have new features and the 13 you're just falling so, so far behind.
I have a 13 PM and I absolutely love it. I have zero desire to replace it. Battery health was down to 79% and just got it replaced by Apple for $89. It's a brand new phone again, it's unreal. If anyone is on the fence with their 13 PM or any iPhone with an aged battery, before spending $1K+, do yourself a favor and just get the battery replaced for $89. That was the best investment I have ever made on any Apple device was getting the battery replaced. I regularly get 2 full days without charging it. Camera takes great photos, screen is excellent. I can't see going for a new phone anytime soon after the battery replacement.
I have absolutely zero complaints with this phone and the Sierra Blue is truly gorgeous. Probably one of my favorite colors Apple has ever produced.
I'm still using my iPhone 13 Pro with 87% battery health as my daily driver. I've bought/tried a 16P, 16+, and 16PM, last year and returned them all. Good ole 13 Pro with a sim card slot still gets the job done.
Apple Intelligence is nothing closed to be useful yet, having it auto off in 13, 14 series is way better.
Yeah, I have no interest in Apple Intelligence either. If I want to use AI, there are several good apps available. I do have Apple Intelligence on my M1 iPad Pro, and from my experience it's not that useful and Image Playground uses a lot of battery. I ended up turning Apple Intelligence off on my iPad.No doubt, Apple Intelligence isn’t useful, even better turn it off for better phone performance and solve the lag problem. iPhone 16 to 12 is not much different for speed or camera.
Indeed! I have a small collection of TOS favorites I keep on as background noise while I take care of my busywork in the mornings.I like the ST TOS reference of your forum name. Are you a Trekkie? I am old enough that I remember watching the original series.
Not really software only. Since the 13P all sensors and optics were upgraded hardware-wise. Not to mention the software, which is also meaningfully improved also. I'm usually on a 3 year cadence for upgrades. Went from the 13P to the 16P mainly for the camera and its new features. I can see a meaningful upgrade. That being said, I'm a photo nerd and part-time photographer/videographer. Otherwise the 13P is still a great phone. I just gave it to mum, since she run over her 11 with a car.the camera has probably improved on later models (?? - it's mainly software, isn't it) but take a RAW image and have a play around in Lightroom or whatever and they're pro prints.
Did you see the sample of photos I posted on the first page of this thread? The 13PM is no slouch either imo. BTW...I'm a retired Naval Photographer who still really enjoys the hobby. Having the phone with me all the time is very convenient for someone like me who's eyes see just about everything as a potential shot. Not really software only. I never even thought you could apply student discount to battery replacement, is that legit? I honestly never even considered. It is only $60 over here with student discount
Absolutely, the 13P is still great for photos and videos, but the improvements since then are notable if you look for these kind of things.Did you see the sample of photos I posted on the first page of this thread? okI use a base model iPhone 12, with 81% battery health. It lasts the entire day with light use. I use a fast charging 18W powerbank( 2750mah ) from Meko for emergencies
My 13PM has an ultra wide angle on it, and a much bigger battery than the 15.For $100 more you can get the base 15 which at least has an ultra wide.
I totally commented on the wrong thread haha. This was for the iPhone 16E thread, my mistake 😀My 13PM has an ultra wide angle on it, and a much bigger battery then the 15.

And yes, I would definitely get the 15 over the 16E for the extra $100.00. No brainer imo.I totally commented on the wrong thread haha. This was for the iPhone 16E thread, my mistake 😀
