Sadly, since the first time iPhones were released, I think I'm going to return my 12 Pro Max and go back to the 11 Pro Max. I have large hands, but the edges of the phone make it uncomfortable to hold, even with a case on. I also am not a fan of MagSafe. I realize that's the future and that I don't have to use it, but its one of the features of this years phones. Its a complete waste and one of the more bizarre things apple has ever released in my opinion.

Anyway, its a nice phone, but when I pick up my 11 Pro Max I'm like "Oh you feel so much better to hold" and that for me is enough to return the 12 Pro Max. I'm gonna give it another few days, but as of now I'm leaning towards returning it.

Same here. I keep going back to using my 11 PM around the house because it just feels so good to hold. I’ve never gone back to using my old iPhone once the new one has arrived.

ip 12PM has yellowish screen and getting hot. I like ip11PM screen white balance much more.

Not willing to pay top price for low quality control.

I am feeling the same way but already exchanged the 11PM so I cannot simply go back.

The biggest downside to me are the incredibly sharp edges that make the device feel much bigger.
Also the camera bump at the back is too big for my liking as I never take any picture but just want the bigger screen size and battery.

I also think Apple should optimize iOS a bit more for this screen size in particular. Not sure how that can be accomplished just yet but the home screen feels so empty to me on this device.

Not sure what to do yet but I am giving it a couple more days to see if I can get adjusted to the edges.

mmmm... jessica.'s beer...
Forget the edges, the phone is now too big to hold comfortably for me. I've had the large sized phone since the 6 Plus. Gonna give it a week or so to see if I can adjust or not.

Same. I’m going to give it a week to see if it grows on me, but I think the 11PM was the absolute max size for the big boi. The 12PM takes it just a tad bit too far.
Only thing that worries me is that my 11PM’s battery is at 89% health and another year with it could make for short battery life by this time next year.

Not a chance. 11 PM boxed up and ready for shipment.

-love the feel of the bigger phone, especially paired with the apple leather case
-5G has been surprisingly decent
-low light photography is next level
-more ram, more apps in memory
-128gb base storage
-speakers are louder and welcoming

Not a major update, but the design and subtle changes have been great

The phone does get hot when charging but otherwise no issue. There is an adjustment for the yellow tint so that is resolved. I use a .3mm caudabe case and I have no issue with the edges. I put on a screen protector. Perfect fit.

I think it is a tad heavier than the 11PM because it bigger. The large size is no more difficult to you than the 11PM.

Returning my 12 PM as well. Love my 11 PM and how it feels in my hands without a case. The 11 PM is big but not too big to be used with one hand. It looks more elegant, especially from the bag as it doesn't have this oversized camera arrangement. Really disappointed where Apple took the PM-line.

Had the Pro Max been not so big, I’d have upgraded this year as well.

To be honest the Pro size from last year is what I have right now and I really like that size. The 6.1” wouldn’t have been too much of an issue but if I was going to upgrade I was going to get the best within similar size.

The 12 Pro over the 11 Pro didn’t bring enough of improvements for me given the chances of me taking pictures in such low light, when Lidar matters, is almost none.

Just my thought:
I don’t believe this was the design Apple wanted However the pandemic caused this to be an iPhone without a full hardware redesign
For people moving from an iPhone 6,7, 8 or X the iPhone 12 is a big redesign for the rest of us it’s minimal
Let’s cut Apple some slack and see what Apple comes up with next year

I am in the same boat. New iPhone every year so was happy when the 12pm arrived. However didnt love it at the start and keep picking my 11pm up. However since yesterday it has grown on me a lot. But i also think the 11pm was perfect for me with the size. Will give it another week and then i will decide.

That ten thousandths of an inch in width really makes a big difference. /s

I would keep the max to avoid throttling issues if you do a lot of processor intensive tasks (gaming etc).
The 12 pro is much smaller causing the a14 to overheat.
The max’s bigger size helps it to dissipate heat.

This is my all time favorite design/color for an iPhone. I haven’t been excited about the look of an iPhone in quite some time, and the color puts it over the top.

Throw in the HDR display, camera setup w/lidar, the way they optimized the 6gb ram holding apps in memory a hell of a lot better (I can still open call of duty from yesterday without a reload, but no negative impact to battery), and speaking of battery, yesterday I got 17 hrs off charger w/ 6 hrs screen on usage with 47% remaining. I know it’s early, but initial battery life has exceeded anything I’ve gotten with my 11pro max with my usage type.

Both mine and my wife’s 11pro maxes go up for sale today... no regrets.

Am I the only one who loves the design?! Lol I came from the 11PM and I absolutely love the 12PM. I think it’s miles better to hold since I have a much better grip. I hope they don’t change the design for a while. But to each their own, it’s not really much of a big update from the 11PM but definitely happy with my purchase.

I love the 12PM too vs my 11PM. In fact as soon as all data is transferred I haven’t touch my 11PM since. Love the flat edges. I use a thin case but don’t think the edges are really sharp or digging into my hands. I have really small hands but always love the biggest iPhone for easier typing and biggest screen for reading, not to mention the battery life. The pacific blue this year is awesome, and the flat edges actually feel easier to grip. Not to mention faster app load time, more ram, and better camera! I don’t know about many of you. But I’m keeping my 12PM just like I had kept all my new iPhone ordered on launch day since the 4 and all the new iPhone I had since the 3g.

Keeping. I have to have the latest and greatest. I do agree, it's a beast compared to my 11PM, especially with the new clear hard plastic case on it which does nothing but accentuate the size and hard square edges (case is going back, too slippery). The camera is noticeably better on the 12PM. The 12PM is noticeably faster, but they all seem lickety split when new. The quality of the display is easier on my old eyes. I don't struggle with my readers.

But yeah, I'll stick it out for a year.

I think for me the perfect compromise would be a non-pro 12 Max as I don't care too much for the added camera features, and can easily live with the aluminium sides and glossy glass back. And again, I think the weight issue was bigger going from Xs Max to 11 Pro Max, then the added 2 gram from 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro Max. But it's probably the form that many mentions that makes it a bit more of a handful.

Nope, I’m sticking with the 12 Pro Max and either selling my 11 Pro Max or giving it to my sister. I always keep my phone in a case and would NEVER EVER use it without. Not a chance in hell. Screen protector, case, and pop socket. The weight is manageable with a pop socket and even without. I use two hands to handle the phone anyway so it really makes no difference to me. It’s a shame people aren’t enjoying it but at least there are other options to please those who don’t like it. I, on the other hand, love this thing and wouldn’t think of going back to the 11 Pro Max.

Not at all, I love the new design because it makes it easier to hold, the camera is noticeably better to me, extra ram, and it’s incredibly fast. I loved my 11 pro max and mainly upgraded because I needed the storage space, and I couldn’t find a used 11 PM 256gb in mint condition that wasn’t $1000+ when taxes are included. I decided to just get the newest and trade it in with Apple and I’m glad I went that route.

Definitely not a needed upgrade but damn, I love this phone so much.
