I'm still rocking the 5S. I love it.

Don't speak for me, bruh.
Well bruh I should have said "IN 2019 the only....". If you're happy with your phone in 2013 then more power to you.

Jony probably got tired of getting outvoted by marketing and business regarding the notch and camera bump being trash designs and decided to leave lol.

I've gotten used to the notch but that doesn't mean I still don't hate it. The camera bump is a non issue since I always use a case.

I haven't upgraded my iPhone in many years.

I never get used to the notch since it appeared in iPhone X but it was expected that the notch will stay this year so i am not disappointed. It would be a big disappointment if it does not disappear from next year's iPhone. But I like FaceID better then TouchID, hopefully apple will keep FaceID without the notch.

Does the competition have all the special lenses and sensors that the notch is housing?

Yes, sorta. Note 10 does all the same things with just a small circle for the camera..

Really? No.

The "small circle for the camera" is just that and nothing more.

It doesn't do face recognition in the dark, for one thing.

Uh, yes it does.

Umm no it doesn't

Yes. Seriously does. I have face unlock turned on. Works great even in the dark.

If for any reason it doesn't read my face (sunglasses) I can use under screen fingerprint.

This is the problem with iPhone users. They seriously do not follow/understand what others are doing have already been done or are also offered.

Also note, my wife has an XS Max and enjoys her phone.

You're right about the face recognition. My apologies. But please don't count iPhone users as ignorant of Android devices. I've had Samsung phones and tablets before. I currently have a very nice Tab s5e tablet whose face recognition doesn't work in the dark. :p

The note 10 doesn’t pack all that technology into the front camera. They are mimicking features of Face ID but doing it in a much less sophisticated way. I can’t speak to working in the dark but it’s literally just a camera, nothing like all the sensors included with Face ID

Well I generally find Android tablets to be meh. Lol.
Carry on....

I have a friend that has the Note 10+. It unlocks in the dark like FaceID but if you think it's anywhere near as secure you're fooling yourself. It has an in screen fingerprint scanner that is secure though. I won't say that the Note 10+ isn't an awesome phone. It would be one of my top choices if I wanted an Android phone.

There are some very nice Android phones out there but tablets are terrible. Google needs to take a page from Apple and make an Android tablet OS. The potential is there.

I am happy. My MacBook is up-to-date. But my previous MacBook was the white plastic one. When I dislike a product, I don't buy it.

But then again, I spend more money on musical instruments.

Not really, I mean a full screen of glass like on the iPad Pro would be nice, but honestly I don’t even notice the notch on my iPhone X. The way the UI tucks the time, reception, and battery data points into the corners makes it feel no different than the old iPhones that had a bar across the top in the UI.

An in-screen fingerprint sensor removes the need for a notch.

Works great on Hauwei and OnePlus phones, and now works well on Samsung phones (after a few software updates!)

So having an inscreen fingerprint scanner gets rid of the camera and speaker? I don’t think the fingerprint scanner has anything to do with the notch.

Based on all the reports and rumors I knew the notch was staying so I wasn’t disappointed.

Nope, don’t care. People get so finicky about the littlest things. I’m just excited about a new phone every year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Same here! I have the upgrade program where I can trade in my XS Max for the iPhone Pro Max or iPhone 11. I would turn in the XS Max, the payments would go away and I would pay on the new phone. I think my payments would go down if I went with the iPhone 11 non pro model.

The other option is I finish paying for the XS Max and in one year it would be mine. Then I could sell it for maybe $500 and put that towards the new one. The year of payments would be a little more than the sale price so I would actually lose money that way. The only way that would make sense is if I kept the XS Max for a few more years.
