For me it is all about fit. earbuds with adjustable tips have never fit me that great, very small ears. The AirPods (OG) fit me perfectly. I'll stick to over-the-ear for ANC.

When the rumors of the Pro models surfaced, I was hoping they kept the same design. Maybe down the road that is something they will be able to accomplish. For as many people that the AirPods (OG) do not fit, there are equally as many people that the new ones do not fit.

Definitely prefer the Pro.

- they fit better and don't move at all (the old ones always fell out while jogging)
- they sound better
- ANC - i can listen to things in the gym at almost half the volume i needed with the original AP.... my ears will thank me in the long run.

And compared to other in-ear:
Surprisingly i don't get the vacuum effect. I really hate that and i'm glad apples solution works for me.

The only things i prefered on the old Airpods:
- lower price
- smaller case

I switched to the smallest silicone tips and have changed my opinion - I love the pros.

The smaller tips fixed the sound of my feet hitting pavement and made phone calls sound better. I am definitely keeping them.

The only thing I’ll miss about my originals is (while wearing a cap and scarf in winter that covers my ears) being able to tap the side of my head to change to the next tune.

Returned mine. ANC is impressive but the sound is no better than the originals.

Sound is better on AirPods 2 all these people saying AirPods pro sound better are not being honest, so many sheep reviews the new ones hurt my ears and couldn’t keep them in

I currently own the second generation AirPods. I would like to purchase the new ones, however, my significant other brought up several points on how it would be an unneeded purchased due to having bought the one’s I have now not too long ago. So I guess I‘m stuck with mine.

Probably just means you have a good significant other, and they are not wrong. It’s good to have someone to keep us grounded. :)

I use the old air pods for work and they do fit fine but too loose for my liking. air pods pro do fit better in terms of staying in my ears better.

Yes. I do. I spent a little over a week with the Pros. While I loved the noise cancellation and the slightly improved sound quality, they just wouldn't sit in my ears for an extended period of time without the seal loosening up and then fall out of my ears. Because of the in-ear design I was hyper-aware I had something in my ears. While I wouldn't say they were uncomfortable, I also wouldn't say they were comfortable. And I hated that I could feel them ever-so-slowly loosen up over time. I loved the "put them in and forget about them" nature of the regular AirPods that I had. Ultimately, I decided the $250 price tag wasn't worth it for me.

Having returned my AirPods Pro and gone back to my AirPods w/ WC, I much prefer the standard AirPods. The pain for me with the Pros was very real. And as much as I’ve always been stoked about the thought of ANC, I think I prefer the open air feel of the AirPods. I generally always like to be aware of my surroundings, even on a flight. I place a certain emphasis on it.

Much to my disappointment I'm taking back my AirPods Pro's. I have tried every combination of tip sizes in the world and they will not stay in my ears. I've literally had them just fall out at times. When the seal is good they are fantastic! Love the ANC, etc. Oh well.

Sounds like my experience.

Yes, returned mine. They will not stay in my ears while running. I have to push them back in every half mile or so. I can run 8 miles without touching the original AirPods. I am probably going to upgrade to the AirPods 2 since they are on sale.

I was blessed to have the OG AirPods fit perfectly in my ear, however with the Pros it's taken some adjustment but with the smallest tips the Pros fit perfectly now - really comfortable

Sadly I’ve had to book mine in for return which is a shame as I consider myself a bit of an AirPods superfan. None of the ear tips fit well, they all seemed to be too big and it was very fiddly and quite uncomfortable working them into my ear to get a good seal. The ANC didn’t work very well for me either, I could always hear outside noise even when the tester app said I had good seals (I did check I had ANC activated!)

I’m also not a big fan of the squeezing gestures, it requires a lot more precision than tapping. I noticed when I was on some exercise equipment that it took a lot longer to find the stem and squeeze it than quickly slapping either side of my head to go forward/back a track.

What I love about regular AirPods is how quickly I can get them out of the case and into my ears. With these new ones it seems that immediacy is lost and the noise cancelling and better sound quality don’t really do enough to to override the drawbacks for me.

Hopefully we’ll get some red and black AirPods soon, my wallet is ready Apple!

agreed, however try tapping your Pros whilst in like you would OG AirPods and it's not the most pleasant experience lol

this why the airpods were such a hit for me. I even had custom molded in ear headphones and they still did not stay tight.

I find the original AirPods:

1. Much more comfortable in my ears.
2. Easier to remove/mount due to the longer stems
3. Double-tap is quicker and easier to do when I’m running (or any time really)

So I don’t think it’s as cut and dry that everyone will like the AirPods Pro better.

I will stick with the AirPods Pro mainly because of the noise cancellation. It makes mowing the lawn so much nicer.

I prefer the non-intrusive fit of the original AirPods.

If they perfectly fit your ears, like they do mine, then:

- there is no other wearable listening device that matches their forget-they're-there comfort
- they are, by design, naturally transparent to the local soundscape
- they include the best new Apple device design since the iPhone: the AirPods charging case itself
(which delivers that forget-they're-there comfort to to your pocketscape)

Its interesting reading about everyone who really loves the "transparent sound scape" of APs, me myself always hated the original design since I want to shut everything out when Im listening to music and such.
Each to his own!
Im totally in love with APPs after using Samsung IconX 2018 for the last 14 months or so.

At home or travelling, I love active noise cancellation, and am happy to wear over-ear headphones when I want to focus on just my music.

However, my original AirPods are my go-to's for walking around town. I do not feel safe being completely isolated from warning noises around me.

I'm gonna send my AirPods Pro back tomorrow. It's just not comfortable for me that I have these noticeably deeper in my ear compared to the normal AirPods so I'm gonna stick with those. I wanted to love the Pros because of ANC and transparency mode but they're unfortunately not for me.
