Finally I have arrived.....

I just got the one of the 3 replacement batteries arrived. But, this replacement battery for my 12" PB is bent around the edge of the battery; so it does not fit in correctly to my PB. Applecare is now closed; so, I would need to wait for tomorrow.

I hope I can request the defect-free replacement battery through web site as I don't really have the time to make a telephone call during the normal business hours.

By the way, do I need to bring the box to Post Office? Or, can I just drop off the box at one of Post Office's drop off locations on the road?
After 30 min call today to Applecare to get the replacement battery for the replacement battery which arrived with the bent casing, I was able to have the "new" replacement battery sent to me in several days.

Now, back at my place, I saw the second (of the three) replacement battery has arrived (I need to replace 2 PB's batteries and 1 iBook's). This replacement batter for a 12" PB also came with defects. This one has the worse bent than the first one I just called Apple to get replaced.

Now, back on my phone with Applecare (still waiting for the live person for the last 10 min). I hope I can get this second battery to be replaced again.

This is getting complicated. I have to get the replacement battery for the replacement battery and I have to return both (one under recall and the one which came with defects) for 2 occasions. I hope the next 2 batteries for PB will come in good shape.

I am crossing figures for the good condition for the soon-to-be-exected-to-arrive replacement battery for my iBook.

Finally I have arrived.....
updates....

Apple sent me the replacement batteries for the warranty replacement batteries which replaces the original batteries under this recall campaign. These new replacement batteries are in good shape. So, everything seems to be completed fine now. I sent out the bad batteries (5 of them) back to Apple yesterday.

You should really just drain your current battery and swap over and send it back. The "bad" batteries work fine until they catch on fire. :( The chances of that happening to you are very small, but not zero.

My thoughts exactly. Shame the darn thing is still pretty good no matter how i use it. Its still at 91% after 160 cycles

I got mine a couple of weeks ago, having submitted my request about a week after the recall was issued (because my SN didn't work initially). So I guess it took about four weeks to get here. Ahhhh, do I love being back to 4600 mAh! :)

As soon as I popped in my replacement battery (12" PB), I fired up coconutBattery to check its capacity... and BAM!!!

4400 mAh W .. T .. F ?!?!?!?

My old battery had a max of 4600, although it was degraded to 4516 at the time of replacement.

Has anyone else been shipped a 4400 mAh battery? Is coconutBattery just plain wrong?

My new batteries definately last a LOT longer than my old ones, I am back to the 5 hours of battery life, my older ones were around 3 to 4 hours in the end.

CoconutBattery does however confuse me slightly. I include a screenshot!
Why do I have 2 batteries in the list?
It says my current battery capacity is higher than my original battery capacity. Is this comparing my old battey to my new one? It says my maximum is 4516 which doesn't seem too bad, I never ran coconutBattery on my old batteries (and they are being picked up some time today!...come on UPS...Ive gotta stay in until you come!) I've had my Mac on battery power on for most of the morning and have a few hours left on it still.

I really know nothing about batteries (life, memory and things of that sort)...

Perhaps the cells get "broken in" and their capacity increases?

If there is any legitimacy to that, it could explain why you are showing an increased capacity.

My roommates old batter did the same thing. Not sure why.

On the replacement front, it took almost exactly 6 weeks for it to arrive but he got it about two weeks ago and it's working great.

No, Coconut Battery is only showing one Battery. The top bar is your battery's current CHARGE. The Bottom one is Capacity (IE, the Max amount of charge it can hold). If you let the battery charge fully, both bars should be green. If the Bottom bar starts depleting dramatically, it may be time for a new battery, as your battery wouldn't hold as much as it used to.

Right, gotchya. Thanks for that!

So why is my maximum charge on the bottom section higher than the original charge below it?

I think I need to manually enter the battery serial number as it says the charger is not connected and the battery isn't charging, when it is!
