It does display video! I was surprised too. But still YPbPr.Not all USB C cables support video throughput. I highly doubt Samsung would provide such cable with an external drive.

I just switched my HP V28 to DP 1.1, can't really tell the difference... Time will tell my issue has been what your Edit described thus not very hopeful here...Boys i think i may have found the issue, on my end it was the display port version, hdmi was a no go, nothing got it out of limited range ycbcr444, got a usb-c to DP cable, still ycbcr, changed the display port version on my monitor to 1.1 instead of 1.2 with hdr and boom, RGB444 full range, everything looks acurate again
Not mad about loosing hdr as my monitors max brightness is like 400 cd/m2, nothing special, and the monitors hdr calibration is unchangable and poopoo, but ymmv
This is the cable if anyone wants to give it a try, its pretty cheap, but i imagine any usb-c to DP cable works fine
I also had intermitent ghosting and flickering, but ive been using this for close to an hour without any issues as well but its too soon to tell
Edit: Ocasional flickering and lines across the screen are still definitely present, bummer
Woah, so after almost a year, we’re finally at where we wanted to be? And by default with no changes required?Update, running Monterey beta 9 and my Dell U2720Q now defaults to RGB (USB-C To USB-C) and it looks great! Let's hope it's finally fixed.
No changes required and fonts are very nice and crisp.Woah, so after almost a year, we’re finally at where we wanted to be? And by default with no changes required?
How are the fonts? Blurry?
Excellent! Can’t wait to try it.No changes required and fonts are very nice and crisp.
The Dell U2720Q is a 4K monitor right? Aren't the text too small by default? No changes required and fonts are very nice and crisp.
Yes it it is a 4K monitor and the fonts are very small by default, too small, at least for me. But I use scaling to get the size that looks good for me. Don't go with a lower resolution monitor, I used a 24" 1080p monitor temporarily and the fonts looked awful. The Dell U2720Q is a 4K monitor right? Aren't the text too small by default?
Can tell me which scaling do you use? If I am not mistaken, macOS will only show images at native 4K resolution only if the Larger Text (looks like 1920 x 1080) or the More Space (3840 x 2160) option is selected.Yes it it is a 4K monitor and the fonts are very small by default, too small, at least for me. It's not possible as HDMI 2.0 doesn't have enough bandwidth available for 4K @ 60Hz and 10-bit color.I've been running a M1 MBP to a LG CX 55 for the last year over USB-C to HDMI at 4K60 non HDR without much issue for the last year. I've now upgraded to 16" Max and switched to HDMI out which enables HDR as an option. However the instant it's on, the clarity/perceived resolution (most noticeable in text) takes a noticeable hit, seemingly a subsampling issue?
I'm much of a layman to this, but in going through this thread and a few others I haven't been able to find a clear answer as to if there's a way around it? Is there currently no way to push 4K60 HDR at full capacity through either HDMI or USB-C-to-HDMI to a CX?
