ACMT now taking ACSP

I have been fixing macs exclusively for some time now, I was unsure where to start but my Goal is to get on the ACN Network.

I mistakenly bought the AppleCare Technician Training but really what i needed was my ACSP. I have both Support Essentials Book and Server Essentials as well i have gone over lynda's Support and Server. I take my Support Essentials this Friday.

Can anyone tell me that has already taken the test anything that i should hit hard other then chapter 3 File System as i am just going over the Review Quiz.

You should read the whole book, as it's all covered in the exam.

dude, you might want to take that down. It's got your candidate ID and you would've signed an NDA about sharing any info about the exam.

wow, i didn't realize there were so many people around here taking these exams.

are you all trying to get a job by being certified? what type of job?

thanks in advance. i also would like to get certified after i graduate college

I work as an Apple Systems admin, so I'm working on my ACSA. You can't repair apple stuff in house if you're not an ASMT, so I have that too.

I am a independent individual who would is considering getting certified in ACSA and ACMT and just want some feed back on the benefits of having these certifications

Depends what field you work in/want to work in.

I am looking at doing the ACSA, is the individual books from peachpit all you need to successfully complete and pass the exams?

I just took the ACSP exam today and passed with 85%. My study material was the OS X Support Essentials from Apple. The tests is not so difficult, but you gotta know what is covered in the book.

Anybody here planning to take(or have taken) the ACMT after acquiring the ACSP?

Cheers!

If the first step to an Apple career would be acquiring the ACSP, why can we not combine other Apple certs, so to become ACSA?

Was ACMT a good choice after ACSP?

Thanks!

I took OS X Troubleshooting a couple of weeks ago. I'm taking the Apple Service exam this Friday.

The books for the final three exams aren't out yet.

You can combine the OS X Support Essentials exam with the OS X Server Essentials exam to become a Technical Coordinator.

Well, what I mean is, if it's worthy taking the ACMT after ACSP? From what I understand the ACSP and ACMT won't help accomplishing the ACSA, right?

Right! Now, does the ACMT play any role along with those other 2, in your opinion?

The best thing about ACMT is it allows you to get parts from Apple to repair in house.

Could I?

Hey i am 15 years old, i was wondering if i could get any of these certifications at my age. because i know alot of the stuff.. i would really like to take these tests.. thank you:apple::apple:

That's the main reason my company needs me to take the ACMT. Now, one thing I don't understand is why the ACSP won't count towards the Mac OS X 10.5 Troubleshooting Exam (9L0-061) since it basically covers the same topics.

I'm certified in 10.4 Help desk. I'm going for the 10.5 help desk since 10.5 tests came out and it makes little sense to continue the 10.4 tests.

Yeah, I asked Apple the same thing. They said I had to take both, which sucks. The troubleshooting exam had 5 questions on Parental controls which I wasn't really expecting.

Can you tell me if this is the book (besides the AppleCare Training), or if can be used for the ACMT?

Thank you for all the prompt responses Sky Blue!

No problem, I've been studying for all these exams for the last month or so.
I've been reading the book you linked to for the past week for the Apple Service Exam. I believe (though I'm not certain) that the book is a little out of date for the exam.

The book is from May 2007, and the exam was re-structured in Feb 2008 (it used to be two, one for desktop, one for portables). I think the exam may cover newer macs like the Aluminum iMacs from last year.

I'm taking the exam on Friday, so I'll find out then!
