However, does anyone elses MacBook smeel like a Chemical factory? very nice, but still quite potent smell. Its kinda like a very strong "new plastic" smell, smells almost as though you could get high off it.
...maybe thats why i like OS X actually (just kidding on this last point :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, ther smell comes with ehat, hotter the macbook, the stronger the smell.

Yea Ive actually come to like the smell and find it very addicting. It brings back memories of my first apple laptop when I first experienced the intoxicating new smell. I think its the general apple scent or something though because my apple display also seemed to smell similar to it.

But returning back to the thread topic, my macbook doesnt show any staining yet but its only been a few days. I did notice the ones in the store had some signs of staining in various places though.

Has anyone tried to return a discoloured Macbook? What is the likelyhood of getting it swapped for a new one if it is discoloured?

Its crappy because the white models have the yellowing problem, while the black has the fingerprint, smudge, oil mark problems.

Two weeks, no problems.

My dad has had his white MacBook for 2 weeks now, constant use (~8 hours/day between work and home,) and I can't see any staining at all. Palmrests look the exact same color as next to the keyboard.

But, he is fastidious about keeping his notebooks clean. (I did watch, he does rest his palms on the palmrest, so I know it's not just that he never touches them.)

Still no stains on my moms macbook and it is about 2 months old. However she doesn't use it that often...what a shame
