I really want to get a 12.9 new ipad pro (i got the 9.7) and im just wondering if anyone traded theres in for the new, if they regret it, where they traded it in and what they got for it (i got a black wifi 256 GB)

Im waiting for apple to take it, BUT they havent updated there renew and recyclable site yet which i find very odd.

Trying to sell my 9.7 pro on gumtree but no luck so may just sell on comparison websites. Most I can get for my 256GB is £380

So far the best site I have seen is "Glyde". I have the 9.7 256GB Cellular and if they can sell it for what they said they can, it would actually be a hair more than selling on eBay and paying eBay/paypal/shipping fees.

Interested to hear others ideas on where to sell or trade-in.

Thought about selling my 1st gen 12.9 and adding some cash to get either of the new devices.. but after seeing them in person I realized nothing I do as far as programming or even daily usability warranted such a change.. so in the end I'll stick with what I have for a couple more years. Last gen is still super fast and with IOS11 its still running smoothly.

Sold my 9.7" Pro on Swappa and got the 10.5" Pro. NO REGRETS AT ALL. I loved my 9.7" Pro to death, but this new one is blowing my mind. The screen improvements and form factor change are fantastic. The only thing bumming me out is that there was no Apple Silicon case for the back. I had to buy a cheap one on Amazon to hold me over, and I'm really disappointed with its quality compared to the Apple one I was used to on the 9.7".

I would say gen 1 12.9" owners probably won't see as much of an improvement--they'll have the same RAM, form factor, and keyboard size. The screen improvements and speed improvements are probably not enough of an improvement for an upgrade for those users unless you REALLY have to have ProMotion.

For me it was, over Generation 1

https://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/
  1. CPU/GPU
  2. True Tone
  3. 2nd Generation TouchID
  4. Better Front & Rear Camera
  5. OIS Camera’s
  6. ProMotion
  7. Body and face detection not just face
  8. Auto HDR this time for photos and video
  9. And some more......

Yeah, it's just a judgement call I suppose. FOR ME it was a big enough upgrade, where if I was coming from a 12.9" I probably still would have upgraded. But for others, they wouldn't perceive much difference.

Same issue..have mine on Craigslist for 550(Includes smart keyboard, rubber back case, screen protector) its for the 128GB WiFi one in gold..no one wants it..have had a few people email me but they dont respond back when I say Im interested in selling the ipad to them..right now Best buy has a promotion..would get 285 for the ipad plus an additional 150 gift card to purchase a new one..if by next week no one buys my iPad will just take it into best buy and do it

Sold iPad 9.7 32gb wifi only to Gazelle for $240. I know I likely could have gotten more elsewhere but just wanted quick and easy.

Had the 12.9 pro and have no regrets. The screen is amazing. Like the smaller size. Easier to work with. Just wish more cases were available. A hard time deciding which one to grab.

If I’m not mistaken the gift card for purchasing a new iPad was only effective during pre-order days...I could be wrong.

How/where do you see the $285 + $150 GC at Best Buy?

Google best buy trade in.put in your ipad info..it will give you a trade in value

look at the top, til Mid July they are offering 150 gift card if you purchase a new ipad

Sold my 9.7 Pro and ASK for $500 online. Love my 10.5

Where did you sell it..Craigslist? No one wants mine so far have had mine up for a week

Again, I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s a trade-in PLUS a $150 gift card. Based upon my understanding, whatever you trade-in will net you at minimum a $150 gift card value. Say your iPad is valued at $80 then you’d get a $70 bump. If that same iPad was valued at $250 then that’s all you get...$250 trade-in gift card. Anyone else care to take a look?

Yowza.. I need to go in to the Electronics Resale Industry! I know some people are either (1) Not concerned about money or (2) Do not want to deal with the hassle of selling their items; however, Bet Buy is willing to give me a whopping $267 for a 256GB Cellular iPad Pro 9.7 in perfect condition.

Jaybrokers.com. They almost always offer the most value for a “I just want this off my hands” sale. Very friendly team of people too.

I was about to say just sold mine on swappa. No regrets. I love the 10.5 model I purchased. Just waiting till another update or 2 on iOS 11 so they can get some of the bugs fixed. And I will install that on my new iPad.

I must say 11 has been running just about flawlessly on my 10.5 with the exception of my DTVnow app. It has decided it doesn’t want to partake in the festivities.

I tried it on mine. It was not that bad, same bugs that everyone have been reporting with other devices. I don't mind waiting another few weeks till using iOS 11 though. Im very patient.

That Jaybroker site..says they would give me 380 for my iPad..only thing is, I know what happens when you send electronics to these sites, you so end one in perfect and boom they say "Oh its damaged you will get less for it" that is why I like doing transactions for electronic items face to face
