Nope, I'm not sure what people are complaining about with JB. It's not like we didn't know what features it was going to have...I'm pretty happy with the phone and Apple would need to really wow me to convince me to downsize to a 4" screen.

That the forthcoming JB update doesn't look that good and that the iPhone may be better than we are anticipating?

iOS 6 has already been released, and it had nothing jawdroppingly amazing in it (IMO). We also seem to have a pretty good idea about what the new iPhone will be offering (unless Apple has a few new things up their sleeve we don't know about), so I don't think you've got much to worry about for this iPhone cycle.

Not one bit. I've already seen iOS 6 and I'm not impressed. I'm not even running JB on my international S3 and I don't mind that much since I'm running a custom ROM that suits my needs better anyway.

I don't know, after doubting it's going to be a worthy update for months I just have this odd gut feeling something better than I expected is going to crop up next week.

I'm not denying the overall greatness of the S3 for one minute - the screen is miles better than the current Apple offering, to the point where the 4S actually looks and feels pathetically small.

Android is great but I only switched cos I'm fedup of the minor yearly updates with the iPhone - IF(!) it shows a substantial jump I'd be tempted to sway back..

I'm happy with ICS and probably will be for a while. I don't purchase anything in anticipation for updates. I'll probably give JB a try right away, but will roll back to ICS quickly if I don't find it to be an improvement. You can always use cyanogenmod JB which isn't Touchwiz, that might make a differ.

That's just baseless optimism. A lot of people are so disappointed with iPhone this year that they're making up stuff and posting threads about how it MIGHT be better and that Apple is just putting up a smokescreen for the REAL iPhone and the REAL iOS6 features.

It's hilarious really.

I don't know what to believe. I think you're probably right but we'll have to wait and see.

People are dissapointed with almost every iphone release to be honest.

I remember when people were praising the EVO (like the GS3) and saying how the then leaked iphone 4 would suck...

What doesn't look good about it? The UI's smoother, the phone gets Google Now and the new Jellybean keyboard etc.
Every Jellybean feature that was announced is in there. Wait and see what it feels like when it's released.

What's the problem ? Sell your S3 and buy an iPhone if that is what you really want after Apple announces it next week.

So much drama and energy spent over such trivial matters.

The screen is actually pure garbage.

Have you ever bothered trying to take your screen and compare it to an iPhone 4S or HTC One X?

That's right, your screen can't display white and is half as bright. It's also tinted.

Thank god the new Lumias have dropped the trash that is Super AMOLED.

I have only had my S3 for 3 days now but I really like the phone. The only thing I miss about my 4s is the camera. Not that the S3 is bad but the 4s's camera really is fantastic.

No, jelly bean is around the bend. And it looks great.

I like the screen, I like the feel, I like the weight. I just really like the phone.

Apple would have to do something really crazy to get me back on the iphone.

Nope, S3 is damn near perfect IMO. If the iphone 5 was about as thin as the ipod touch with a 4.5 inch (or larger) 720p HD display, LTE, widgets and more customization than just boring rows of icons, I would consider switching. That wont happen though.

Once the kool-aid starts flowing, it'll be hard for many not to drink.

Heck, even I'm excited about the keynote. But I very much expect the keynote to confirm that I'm done with the iPhone. The boat has almost sailed, and the keynote will probably be the last wind.

What really drives it home for me is that whatever they unveil next week will likely be the design and size for the next two years. That commitment boggles me.

Are you serious???

Jelly Bean is like ten times better than iOS 6. Even ICS is better than iOS 6. Google Now is way better than Siri, and the new Google voice search is awesome.

The SGS3 will still be much better than the new iPhone: bigger screen, NFC, quad core, led notification light, capacitive buttons, 2100 battery compared to the 1450 of the new iPhone, micro SD for further memory expansion whenever you want, smart stay feature, camera app with more options, more customization, etc.

The iPhone 5 is the least phone that would worry anyone right now, be it Android or WP8.

Next week you will see lots of Apple fans disappointed. Get real.

Yeah, doesn't bother me, considering I can actually see the page. I'm sure you'll love your iphone or Nokia (assuming the company is still in business next week, that is.) by the way, what brand of tv's do you have? I'm sure you call those LED ones garbage. Better yet, you probably own a Samsung tv. People like you are funny.

Nexus 7 on top, S3 in the middle and the baby of the group, my little iPhone 4 on the bottom. Pic taken with an S2.

Why would I choose a phone with a screen that pleases me and go shoving it next to a whole bunch of different devices to try to convince myself that the device I was enjoying is somehow inferior??? That is just plain anal! No one goes up to a new phone they are considering buying and goes...wow this screen sucks! I'll take it!!

I agree with you! But you never know, Apple can change and surprise. Esp when they get their liquid metal how they want it!

FWIW, I am not concerned in the slightest!

I have. I walked into the AT&T store with my iP4 and the GS3 was between the One X and the Note. I spent about an hour playing with all three until I picked the GS3.

Right off the bat .... very noticeable difference in size between the GS3(4.8) and the One X(4.7) screen size. When right next to each other, the 4.8 screen seems to overpower the 4.7. And the Note was just too freaking big to even consider any further.

The One X felt better in hand and had a slightly more vibrant screen than the GS3. The design of the One X was the most inviting, but did not like how the back camera pops out. Sense also felt more ol' school than Touchwiz and felt slower. As far as the GS3 screen is .... The saturation seemed a bit deep at first, especially after looking at an iPhone screen. As far as the screen being dark and not displaying bright whites .... People who state that have only held it once and/or never turned auto brightness off. I will admit auto brightness on the GS3 sucks. But I always keep full brightness on all my devices anyways, and the GS3 is pretty good. I actually prefer it's deeper saturation when watching vids vs the iP4.

So basically with 4.8 being noticeably bigger than 4.7 and the One X lacking external storage. I went for the GS3, also the Red color sold me. Don't regret it one bit, and have no problems with the screen.
