I’m just ignoring any suggestions on fanny packs and the like without touching base on that terrible fashion that makes white Americans stand out anywhere with their fashion crimes.

People used to carry more devices like I mentioned a few years before and they world didn’t stop spinning and neither is a big phone these days a justification to buy a smaller one.

Now back to the person that is too embarrassed to carry their phone hence wanting to buy a smaller one. Maybe that suggestion of a fanny pack is the solution for you. LOL
Its quite funny because here in the UK, we call 'Fanny packs' as 'Bum bag'. We cant really use the word 'Fanny' as it is a UK slang type word for a ladies private area (I don't mean a WC).

Yep me too, I got my vintage brown leather man bag and just love it. Some people laugh at me for having a man bag, but I dont care, i'm metro sexual! In all serious though, in this day and age, males carry a lot of stuff now, keys, phone, wallet, bottle of water, earphones, diary etc

Yeah, some people laugh at me too. but they can laugh all they want as they try to carry everything in their pockets lol

LOL: -- not exactly - I SAID, for long hikes, outdoor activities, etc. the big phone is a problem (not that I am embraced) i am 6-5" after all.....::). And Fanny's are not just for "white" Americans, I see plenty of others wearing them...

Again I don’t see the problem and do long hikes and other activities. It’s a mobile device not something you behold at your desk.

But sure thing, the shareholder in me agrees with you, buy as many iPhones for as many occasions- a bit like the watch collectors of old where the watch needed to match the occasion.

Maybe a cellular Apple Watch?

Mini for day use
8 Plus for reading and navigation on bed (lcd way better than oled for my eyes)

A cell Apple Watch? Lol you can hardly do anything on that device. You can’t even search on a watch…

Good points but you could improve your fitness so your phone doesn’t bother you that much plus make calls. Hence the watch recommendation.

Kidding aside, there’s no wrong or right. Maybe an SE is a great burner phone companion.

Always been curious if anyone with the 12 Pro Max have an extra or smaller/back up phone for those occasions you don’t want to carry the Max around? If so what is it? An SE, Mini?
I have the 12 pro along with the 12 pro max. I use them both, mainly for the cameras. That’s the only reason I upgrade, for the cameras. Everything else is pretty much the same on the iPhone

I have a 12 pro max and went out and bought an OG SE specifically as a smaller phone to use when biking mounted to my handlebars. I did use the 12PM for a few rides but it felt huge sticking on top of my bike’s stem. The SE is much more streamlined.

And I preferred to use a phone for Strava/maps tracking while cycling over a dedicated bike computer because I figured I would still need a phone with me for safety purposes, and the 12PM is cumbersome in a pocket while also being too big to fit in a bike saddle.

The SE meanwhile has worked out great as a single purpose device with the back up of having cellular signal and data if needed. Also works fine for a quick snap or two of the bike/svenery

good perspective! yes you always don't want to bring that 12 Max to the beach, biking, running, hiking, etc.. :)

I can do everything essential on my cellular Watch. I rarely take my phone when I go out and only use my Watch on walks, in the pool, on the beach, etc.

I have a cheap Android thing in case my 12 pro max gets stolen or whatever but I can't think of any other situation where I'd use it. The 12 pro isn't THAT big. Just take one less sandwich.

Everyday phone: iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Backup/Alternate phone: Google Pixel 3a XL.

Sometimes I swap the SIM card for a day and play with the Pixel. Since my parents, both in their 80s, got Pixels as their first smartphones I figured it was wise to keep semi-familiar with the whole Android game. The worst part is keeping contacts synced. I maintain a Gmail address and re-enter my work contacts regularly in Google. Not so many that its a big deal. Another downfall is music. I stream music in my car from my iPhone. No such luck with the Pixel. All my music is in iTunes. Moving songs from iTunes to YouTube Music is tedious at best.
