I'd bet you can restore from backup and everything will work. You'll get almost everything back as you left it. At least try it before restoring as a new device.

What do you think about deleting the 8 apps and then re-downloading them?

Worth a try. It will save you time if it works. It's free to redownload as often as you wish. I'd do a hard reset after deleting and sync with iTunes before I downloaded the applications again.

Thanks again for your help. I deleted the 8 apps and than reinstalled them. All of the fake/old updates are gone as of now and have not come back. I will let you know if they pop back up in the future, but so far it sounds like this worked.
