Can't wait to buy the air pods. You really need to own an Apple Watch if your going to use them though as they will be the quickest way to control the volume.

I strongly believe that was a consideration when designing them, but I'd like to see a firmware update or Version 2 where you could slide your finger up or down on the left/right Pod to adjust volume and use the double-taps on the right for Siri or (preferably) skipping songs.

Don't need a set to know that. Same molded shape as the wired version. Like I said unless your workout consist of standing still they will fall out

For you. The EarPods are designed as a best fit for ears so naturally some people won't like them.

For me personally, the EarPods are the most comfortable earbuds I've ever used and I use them for workouts, runs, weights, and have never had one fall out aside from my I've caught my are on the wire ;)

So basically you're just guessing and have no clue like everyone else apart from many reviewers who tried the actual set and say/show they didn't fall off?

View attachment 659181 it depends on the shape of your ear. I am a runner and mine would fall out. I added silicone covers from ear skins and now they never fall out. The fit is now nice and snug. Will buy the airpods

These types of covers will not work well with the AirPods, not just because they won't fit in the charging case, but because they'll cover the proximity sensors that tell whether the AirPod is in your ear - making the AirPods think that it's in your ear all the time.

It's possible that someone will make an updated version specifically for AirPods with a cutout for that sensor though

Still, you wouldn't be able to get the pods in the case/charge them with that on them though. You can always take the cover off for that, but I think having to do that all the time would be quite annoying.

I will buy on day one. Early impressions seem to indicate that they have a great mic and sound as good as the wired headsets - that's all I want. Also, I don't find them ugly at all.

I find it amusing how people are saying the WILL fall out, as if everyone's ears aren't shaped differently. The wired sets fit me perfectly and I highly doubt these will fall out even when I work out. Yes, they do have more weight, but that weight is mostly distributed downward into the snug part of your ear, thanks to our old friend gravity.

I hope they make enough for day one, and I hope they release early as I'm sitting at work wishing I was listening to music without getting caught.

Does no one here think Apple didn't test the fit of these when designing them? Get a grip!

Also, who the hell thinks they will lose one of the buds? When done just put them back in the charger case. If you can have one fall out of your ear and not notice perhaps you should stay home all the time. You sound like someone who is highly oblivious to everything.

I'd say the person who does not think there is the possibly of losing one of them is the one who is oblivious. Geez.

As far as testing with the EarPods fit Apple did so, doesn't mean they are a great fit for everyone.

I mean, yes it is physically possible to lose one...by taking it out and setting it down on a table and walking off....but don't tell me there is a chance of it falling out while you're running and then you can't find it. You'll know the second it drops out of your ear because 1: you'll feel it, and you'll suddenly hear the outside world better, and 2: the music will shut off.

Now if you do something stupid in them like white water rafting, or enjoying a mosh pit, well, then your stupidity is on you.

Now there is even a better solution.

http://gizmodo.com/3d-printed-earrings-catch-apples-airpods-when-they-fall-1787710001

The earring basket catches the fallen Airpod.

One for each ear.

Problem solved.

This is hilarious. What does your workout consist of standing upright singing?your hilarious I workout extremely hard I can say for a fact the wired ones suck in the gym just like these will not to mention they aren't sweat proof. If you want them say you want them don't make excuses that's totally not true. Before you ware your time with words provide a video of you working out with the wired ones n then these.

Is what I wrote hilarious or is that your thinly veiled excuse for you to show off about how hard you work out? Maybe if you "workout extremely hard", then yours is an extreme case, no?

Actually no!! Anyone that does any bending in the gym will tell you that the stock earpiece sucks and will not stay in. It's nothing in the design to prove that these will stay in. It's your rationalization as to why to get them is hilarious. Just say you want them because the basis as why you stated which is in the gym and that they will stay in is funny.

I haven't touched my EarPods for a couple of years, but from what I remember, the reason the EarPods fall out of my ears is due pulling on the cord and not so much the shape. Typically if I'm sitting still or casually walking, they would stay in just fine.

You sure you aren't just trying to show off your 405lb deadlift? ;)

I'll probably pick up a pair of AirPods for normal use during the day, but I don't intend on wearing them to the gym for various reasons. Like you said, they don't mention anything about being sweat proof in the advertisements and I feel like if I'm working out and they get soaked in sweat, they'll definitely fall out. For $160, I'm not risking it.

Haha. No im not trust me. People in general use workout different I bend pick up **** I had my run with the regular shaped ones. I had tried a lot of ear gear for gym. I settled with the sync by 50 sweat proof. Bluetooth they don't go anywhere. But I do pull 665 dead lift. If you are sitting and not moving and sweating then they will do ok not great

I get that they don't work for you. The poll question is "Are you considering on [sic] buying Apple AirPods?". I answered for myself, oddly enough. Wasn't trying to say how they'd work for you.

Obviously I don't work out nearly as hard as you. Few people do. Still, my EarPods somehow manage to stay in when I run and do what floor exercises I can get in between running my business and being a very present father. Probably a moral failing on my part.

Even if I never use the Airpods while working out, they are still a day one purchase because I spend a lot of time on the phone with clients and find wires to be supremely annoying. I also listen to music, podcasts, and books constantly while working. But there I go again, making decisions that only affect me based on my own needs - how quirky I am!

Excellent point. I will be purchasing a pair when they release this month. But the one annoying thing, is I have to activate Siri to adjust the volume every time versus having a touch capacitive function like you indicated.

The other fact about the Airpods, is if You only use one, it can be used for calls, but you will need both in tandem for music.

I definitely see the Airpods evolving heavily in the future, more discreet, more color options, sound quality, battery life, ect.
