That is exactly what happened when Apple transitioned away from the original AIO Macintosh with modular Macs. Mac users "moved on" to something other than Mac like an Intel Windows computer. Fortunately Steve Jobs came back and put the AIO iMac front and center to help resurrect the Macintosh and Apple. Being an Intel-based 27" iMac owner I will wait till the very last for a larger screened iMac. If it is Apple's decision not to do this, then I and other large screen iMac holdouts may "move on" to something else and maybe, god forbid, it won't be a Macintosh. It is time to accept that it is NOT happening and move on.

I’m worried about the aggressive OS updates how long is 8GB going to lay with this new AI software apples pushing? Every time I update I get beachballsIt still is if you are doing basic things, but most people here seem to do a lot more multitasking and graphics work and so need more RAM themselves.
U-L-T-R-AUnlikely. Because Apple wants to keep a larger iMac Pro relatively thin, they will use the M4 Max for cooling reasons.
Still no. The M4 Ultra will likely have way more cooling requirements than the M4 Max and that may rule it out with any possible iMac Pro (unless they put in a much bigger cooling system on the 27" to 30" model).U-L-T-R-A

RAM maxing out at 32GB is a bummer. Still looks nice
I think my problem is the price. The price of mac mini m4pro with studio display. I was hoping at least 27imac with M4pro. But knowing apple, that entry level model would probably would cost 3-4k range as well. The iMac is the same price as the previous iMac with better specs, it’s a solid upgrade, what’s the problem?
functionally this is a price drop given inflation FWIWI think my problem is the price. The price of mac mini m4pro with studio display. I was hoping at least 27imac with M4pro. But knowing apple, that entry level model would probably would cost 3-4k range as well.
