They did so on the last 2 iPhones I've owned. The connection is not reliable and often needs re-insertion to get a reliable connection. Moreover, once this starts anything that bumps the phone (such as driving a car) can cause the connection to drop and need re-insertion.
Wonder if the haptics will at least be different for silent on vs off or will it chime when you turn silent off? And I hope you can disable the button when the phone is locked so no accidental unsilencingAction button means you have to wake the phone up to see if is on silent…..can’t look at phone to check.
I predict many more unwanted phones ringing in concerts plays meetings etc !
