I'm looking to trade in my 13 Pro Max for a 15 plus - rather than the $300 more expensive 15 Pro Max. Is anyone here willing to encourage me one way or the other?

How robust are USB-C ports? I find that after about 18 months or so of daily insertions Lightning ports start going bad. They did so on the last 2 iPhones I've owned. The connection is not reliable and often needs re-insertion to get a reliable connection. Moreover, once this starts anything that bumps the phone (such as driving a car) can cause the connection to drop and need re-insertion.

The super slick aluminum edges of iPhone with the super slick frosted back glass of iPhone Pro. Slipperiest iPhone ever?
That was the iPhone 6. Slick rounded edges made grip iffy if your hands were less than perfectly dry.

Your port probably just cumulated some dirt. Try Cleaning with a tooth pic.

The usbc ports i know are not as sturdy as lightning

Action button means you have to wake the phone up to see if is on silent…..can’t look at phone to check.

I predict many more unwanted phones ringing in concerts plays meetings etc !
Wonder if the haptics will at least be different for silent on vs off or will it chime when you turn silent off? And I hope you can disable the button when the phone is locked so no accidental unsilencing

Apparently the new Action button requires a long press to activate, and also that button can be assigned to many things including running iOS Shortcuts.

If so, that would mean that it doesn’t have to be a ring/silent switch at all. (I would personally rather have the ring/silent setting in Control Panel.)

I’ll know for sure a week from Friday. 🙂

Pocket lint in the port? The Lightning port is practically a magnet for pocket lint.

I've had two Android-based phones with type C connections and they vary in quality as much as the Lightning connections do but generally work more reliably.
