I see we're still being screwed over here in the UK regarding the price which is an eye-watering £1300.
So....all the people who defended Apple's UK pricing in 21/22 on weak GBP and strong dollar, where are you all now that the exchange rate is back up to £1.27 per $? For those of you who can't add up that means a base M3 MBA should be £865.35 + VAT (aka purchase tax), which is currently 20%, so £1,038.

Absolute crazy pricing. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
The £1,299 UK price model is $1,299 in the US which, using $1.27 to £1 and adding on VAT gives £1,254, so not quite the rip off you thought it was. Throw in US sales tax and there really wouldn’t be much of a difference in price.

Still can’t be leave 8/256 is still the base model, I mean 8 GM of memory and that shared with the graphics. Well I can believe it but I’ll pass again.

Bravo on the multi monitors tho.

Yes, I’d prefer 16gb too, but it is the base model of the ’budget’ laptop line.

If the base model MacBook Pro doesn’t even come with 16gb, the MBA certainly isn’t going to get it first.

16gb memory on the top model now.

Baby steps, but nice to see.

With a faster and more efficient Neural Engine, Apple says that the MacBook Air continues to be "the best consumer laptop for AI."
If you do all your AI computing in the cloud maybe. I imagine trying to run an AI model locally on 8 GB is about as much fun as trying to drag-race a Prius. :p

Interesting that the advertised battery life is the same as the M2! I would’ve thought the 3nm process would have resulted in a small bump… maybe tests/reviews will show that?
More interesting is the fact that the M1 battery lasts as long as the M2 (an is in fact advertised as 2 hours more) !

This is actually a better update than I was expecting. 2 external display support is wonderful. AND there is at least one non-BTO option that comes with 16gb of RAM (meaning we can buy this model on sale eventually).

My 14” M1Pro is still going strong but I am cautiously optimistic for my next laptop upgrade.

Still only support for 1 external screen 😂
Doesn't the press release say the M3 Macbook Airs support two external displays? "The new 13-inch and 15-inch ‌MacBook Air‌ models support one external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz with the laptop lid open, and two external displays with up to 5K resolution at 60Hz with the lid closed."

WHy is that a bummer? I imagine if you have 2 big displays available you won't need to have the small laptop display open.

why would you need the lid open when you are running 2 big displays?
You might want 3 displays I guess? Also, Touch ID.
