I remember a few years ago there were questions on whether we would get new hardware at WWDC since it’s really for developers.

Now we’re getting 2 new models within 10 minutes!

Day one purchase for me!

I bought the 13” M1 but had to sell it as the screen was just too small after being used to my 15” PC laptop

I’m going to miss the fans on that spinning up every 5 seconds though

Why are they comparing its' performance vs Intel MacBook Air and PC laptops?

because the performance increase over M1 not going to be that great and won't be a worthwhile upgrade.
however for people still on Intel is a much greater increase.

I have an M1 Mac Studio Max and the M2 not worthwhile upgrade for me

Sure. Because when M3 is truly on the way, M4 will be around the corner & filling the rumor mill.

There will always be an MWhatever around the corner now with the progression Apple is currently making.

I realized how much Apple's marketing-speak has infected my brain when MR's proper and correct wording looked strange at first (Apple would say 11.5mm thin and 3 pounds light, ugh).

Expected, but still a bit of a bummer

Base price is excellent however

Why would anyone buy the base model with 256GB if it has the same SSD config as the M2 13"?
