HireRight Process

I called to inquire on the status of my background check. I was told it was in the last phase which is the court records check. I asked if she meant criminal court, and she said ANY court records. This makes me uncomfortable as I have been sued before, and while unemployed, we were evicted. These are obviously civil matters, but now I'm concerned they will see this stuff and pass on me.

email of death for me after third interview
I'm sorry. Did they say why? Did you progress to the background check?

No... after every answer the interviewer replied "Perfect!" I studied and had the best answer for every question verbatim in the thread.. plus over 11+ years of c.s. experience, managing 40+ employees and previous experience selling/troubleshooting/setting up apple products.. guess that coupled with an associates degree in business management is not up to par lol. I'm not qualified to answer a telephone and find technical solutions.. never got the background check just the email of death after third interview. Just when you think you're safe :/ ( a little bitter lol).. Good luck to everyone else though!

Wow! That sucks! I got my email for my hiring mgr interview. I can't believe this has moved so quickly. Mine was for full time not part time so I had to email the recruiter to clarify and tell me if I should just fill it out or exactly what. All interview slots were for Monday. So entire process on interviewing will only be about a week. Im impressed and somewhat relieved and excited! :D

Thanks for that! Are you gonna be a sad sack also? Be happy.....drink that freakin :apple: Kool-Aid and get over it!

I have seen nothing from the other posters that give an indication of a nightmare interview from the hiring manager. Just good stuff. Just keep a smile on your face and know that it transfers across the phone. Be pleasant but be yourself. You will do fine! Im still elated from my interview and havent been able to move from the chair! LOL

Seriously, I'm a major cynic that will never drink any kool-aid, Apple, Windows or Linux and I'm a curmudgeon to boot. I even told the interviewer that Apple is a technology tool, not a way of life and I still got hired after 2 interviews. I also do not know a thing about Apple products other than familiarity with OSX. If I got hired, the Grinch who stole Christmas could get hired if he interviewed well enough.

Sounds like my interviewer. I'm expecting a no go email.

Any idea who your hiring mgr was. Was it a man or woman? What type questions? Were they technical?

As to your first 2 questions, that will vary depending on what team you're going to be with (iOS, Mac etc.) and which HM happens to have an open slot. Your last 2 questions have been answered pretty thoroughly in this thread. Since I actually started as an employee yesterday there's only so much info. I can post on a public forum. Am I worried about getting busted? No, they'd have to jump through some hoops to find out who I was but I did agree to follow certain communication guidelines and I'll do that as best I can.

You still might not know. I asked my 2nd interviewer whether I was being interviewed for OSX or iOS and he said both. Then I asked again in the new hire call and was told by the person that will be my manager's manager that we will be iOS. I'm thinking it may change based on their needs at the time that you are actually offered a position. Or maybe even based on how you answer the 3rd interviewers question. I told them I had no Mac experience but was very comfy with all Apple mobile products so perhaps that had some bearing on where I was placed. Who knows the thinking of the great machine? /shrug

Aaha

I just applied to this job a few days ago and would love to get it.

But I have a few questions about it.

Does it really take a month for your start date? It seems like a long process.

When do you get a reply after you have applied?

it's a long process .. so far it's been 3 weeks since i've applied and been scheduled for 3 interviews.. if i was to get hired i would still need to wait for a background check , offer email/call, paperwork, and equipment. that's about another 2-3 weeks

Well don't build your hopes up too high, I had a second interview with a guy by the name of Aaron Jesus and he was very unprofessional, there was noise in the background and it was like he was talking to someone else while talking to me.
I hope someone at Apple is reading this and make the necessary corrections.
That Jesus guy is NOT hiring a lot of good technicians because of HIS incompleteness or inadequacies.
FWIW, my experience with Skype interview with AJ was 100% satisfactory. I found him to be personable, easy to talk with, interested.

i think all the interviewers seemed interested. i've only read complaints about 1.

i would rather them be honest and upfront about their feel for you though rather than have you waiting thinking you nailed the interview just to receive a decline e-mail days later

Second. Third was this AM, and went - IMO - even better... I felt more ready and prepared.
