Different Process for different people

I see a lot of posts about the hiring process but from what I read, it can be VERY different for everyone. Trying to figure it out will drive you bonkers. Trust me, I know. Had to remove the noose and climb down from the chair to check my email that I had reached the final steps for qualification :p.

I had one Skype interview a week ago. A friend and myself interviews started 20 minutes apart. She was told she would hear by the end of week, I was told I would hear if I made it to a subsequent interview. Within 24 hours, she had her Hire Right email. Me?? Nothing....nada.. not even a thank you for playing.

7 days later, as I was about to step off the end of the chair, email chirps and off to Hire Right I go. (Just kidding about the chair...sorta..lol).

I absolutely drove myself insane following the threads trying to figure out what was next. I even submitted my res to Kelley which is almost half my current pay, yes I want Apple that badly.

What I am trying to say is YMMV so don't give up until you know its over and then..... Reapply!

did the 3rd interviewer tell you he was going to do a background check or anything?

what questions did he ask
Nothing mentioned about background check. He did mention a possible 2-week wait after submitting his evaluation on today's interview.

A few support scenario questions and a short role-play were done. Total interview time was about 23 minutes.

Since I don't know... what is Hire Right?

Hire Right is the company the fruit magnate uses for background checks.

no offence but you were probably a rebound that's why it took longer.. some people might not have pass the background or at the end didn't want the job so you were second or third on the list

I got my official application this morning. Woot! Woot! Just waiting and super excited! ;) Last interview is 9/24 with a start date of 10/29.

Applecrazygirl: Which position are you applying for with 10/29 start date?

Sjbuckeyes: so you have 10/22 training date.. is that for At Home Advisor?

I had my "hiring mgr" interview yesterday. I couldn't tell how it went. The interviewer just told me I would hear possibly in a week either by phone or email if I was going to go further. Talk about pins and needles.

Then after fretting about a half an hour or so, I noticed I rec'd an email to go to the HireRight website for the background check.

I assume that I am still in the running. But don't know for sure

I hope that they consider me, I love everything Apple has produced so far... products far superior than most and an exceptional support system set up for the customer... of which we, if chosen will be part of.

Best wishes to you all. Maybe we could find ourselves on the same team!!:)

Sjbuckeyes: If you love Apple and their products, just be yourself and that will show thru. I think they are more interested in who you are", then what you know. Hope you get the job!

If you skipped the last interview then it would make sense lol .. Everyone has 3 interviews , if the 3rd was skipped then you would be filling someone's spot

Well it seems that if they tell you that you will be set up for another interview, the third, and they skip it, they are pretty sure that step is unnecessary. So is that a good or bad thing you are pointing out there? Because one doesn't make a whole lotta sense but I always give the benefit...lol

Since I am involved in the hiring process where I work we NEVER skip interviews unless we are convinced of an applicants qualifications and I am sure Apple has a higher standard.

but you never WERE told you were going to be set up for a 3rd :confused::confused:

it takes a few days for the background checks to come back ... within that time some probably didn't pass it so they just sent you a hireright email to fill in a slot

... not sure what you're not understanding but i think i might have an idea why you werent first choice ..hhmm..

----------

Was it that hard?

no it really wasn't .. i might have just been too nervous .
