I'm sure Sk2bbb was just being facetious.

I interviewed Wednesday and I was sure the interviewer just blew me off with less than a 15 minute interview. But then again I was prepared and gave quick accurate answers, so maybe I was just fast.

But today I received the hireright email, so I think it depends on your recruiter.

i interviewed tuesday and he said i'd hear something either monday or tuesday of this coming week . everyone seemed to either get a hireright email right away or a decline letter so that's why im just confused

I applied back in June and was told there were many candidates and they decided to go with them instead of me. The position as since been re-posted on several occasions so I decided I would re-apply, but the position still shows that I have "applied" so how do I re-apply?

I'm sure that wasn't meant to be judgmental at all . I've taken all kinds of tech support calls both for Apple and other companies, I've been through more than 4 product launches and I still get excited and nervous and pensive when waiting for normal interviews, let alone an interview with Apple. I can imagine to someone who hasn't had a lot of experience with tech or with Apple directly would be that much more excited by the opportunity that's being offered. Just because you can't be excited about it, don't look down on other people's excitement. You know these posts are really starting to irritate me. Advisers who act like that would never make it in the Apple call center I work it in now, we don't put up with negativity very well.

Trying to add a little lightness to the topic: Well, Apple sure does test the patience level of prospective employers through its interview/hiring process for sure! .... talking about effective use of psychological techniques.....Jeez :D

That's certainly true haha. If there's one thing Apple is amazingly well at, it's making people yearn and desire what they've got to give. They wouldn't be on top and so sought after if they weren't. Thanks for the positivity :).

Ahhh, another virtual colleague.

Having virtual co-workers is one of the best perks of this job because none of us have to worry about that co-worker who is really a pain in the ______ and you're compelled to fake that you really like working with him/her for the sake of demonstrating good team sportsmanship! Candidacy has always been a weakness for me in the workplace. I cannot portray the phoney-face well. Now, no worries.

Welcome aboard!!! :D:apple:

I have been for 3 months applying for this job and I never get any responses. My whole record is clean, I actually repair Mac and PC computers so I have a lot of expertise with computers, I sometimes wonder if I know too much for this job and Apple won't hire me for that :(

Do you ever get to the interview process? If so I would say maybe dumb down your technical experience, make sure you're explaining things in simple layman's terms, and use descriptive yet simple words. I think they're looking for someone who has enough technical knowledge so that they don't have to completely train you ground up, but that can empathize and explain things in a way an inexperienced customer could understand.

Hey Apple franzzz. :)

I just wanted to tell you guys where I'm at in the interview process now, especially for those of you who never heard back after a certain point, or want to apply again soon.

Timeline as of Sep 15:
8/16: Applied under the Apple ID I use for EVERYTHING anyway.
8/25: Received questionnaire that implied full time work.
8/25: Replied about 12 hours after email was originally received.
Then I may have started to get a little anxious ;) so I used another Apple ID I already had set up and spruced up my resume and cover letter.
8/28: Applied with 2nd ID.
9/09: Applied to a LOT more of the AHA listings.
9/10: Received 2nd questionnaire from a different recruiter than the first time, this one for a part time role like I said in an earlier post.
9/10: Replied within 30 minutes of receiving.
9/11: Random phone call from the recruiter, brief questions, invite for Skype interview.
9/11: Skype interview; got told my energy was awesome, just to be more concise with my answers but she "understood because of nerves and whatnot" and was incredibly sweet. She said I'd receive an email in the next few days confirming my 3rd interview or what have you.
9/13: A 3rd questionnaire was sent to me by a 3rd recruiter but said a different pay and had a different subject line than the previous two. Filled it out to "be safe" & he called within 30 minutes. He seemed SUPER rushed and let me go immediately once he realized I had already been Skyperviewed.
9/14: Completely random phone call from another new (to me) name from Apple. We talked about his weekend, my weekend, chit-chatted, and he was completely awesome and laid back. He told me that by Monday I would receive an email to schedule my 3rd Skype interview which I believe he said will be with the person I will potentially be reporting to and approximately 45 minutes long. "Much more technical, lots of talk of empathy and probably some troubleshooting and customer service roleplay as well," he said. :D Wasn't interview-y at all, felt more like saying "What's up? Just wanted to let you know we're gettin that out to ya but what are your plans for the weekend? Okay buddy well I'll be the one who calls you with good news hopefully so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!" haha. Comforted me... to an extent anyway!

So now I'm waiting on that email guys! YAY! I feel pretty confident about the next interview. I'm going to be completely consumed in studying so that my responses aren't as wordy like the last interviewer suggested, of course. In my first Skype interview, when asked a Windows OS question, I started to stumble a bit towards the end of my answer since I'm not glued to a PC like I am my MbP or iPad. She did tell me that I hit the key points she was looking for so if I probably would have just stopped rambling I would have answered fine.

:apple: We'll see what happens!!! Definitely feeling good about it, just trying not to get over confident... still nervous though!

Awesome! The 10th is my Bday, so y'all get to sing happy birthday to me. Should be a fun class, and we are getting to work on the good stuff. Not iOS.

I have been building and repairing PC's since the late 90's, I have a BS degree, in Aeronautical Science. I'm A+, Network+ certified, And working on an MCITP, and that didn't hurt me. Of course, I'm over qualified for this position, but I want to make IT a career (it has been just a hobby) and Apple is at the top of the tech mountain, so I willing, and happy to start at an entry level position. Perhaps you need to convey that better...just a thought.

4 years of college (albeit not engineering) a pilot's license and 2 certs and you want to sit on a phone for $15 an hour? What a waste.

Quick question. After you guys sent back your paperwork via FedEx, how long was it until you received the email with the My Page link? I only ask because I think something has prevented my paperwork from being delivered. Thanks.

Clarification: Am I reading your scenario correctly? That is, you received the initial questions for the full-time position and then due to being somewhat antsy you re-applied before you received any feedback about the responses to the full-time position. Then you received an interview invitation to the part-time position. Seems like your impatience may have resulted to you somewhat shooting yourself in the foot. I guess the best part is that you are in the running, right? Best of luck! :apple:
