Mine has shipped!

It was picked up in Memphis TN and fedex says it will be delivered tomorrow by 3:00 pm. That is great news considering i ordered June 16th and 11:00 pm. lol!

I am excited!

I was about to blow my cool, thinking I may not get it tomorrow, called Apple and about two minutes into the hold process I got my tracking info.

I'm graduating from this thread boys, good luck to you all.

Quick Prepared to Ship, and What configuration? SIM?

Bringing Thread back from the dead.

I ordered iPhone from Apple Store about 7 hours ago. Status is now "Prepared to Ship." Just curious, from the earlier posts (in June) it seems the status was "configuring order" or "not shipped yet" for several days before the status changed to "Prepared to Ship."

Maybe the logjam is over? Anyhow, what would have to be configured anyhow for the iPhone? Do they configure the SIM at the factory? Or does it get the information it needs when you activate the iPhone using iTunes?

thanks

Well, for one, this was at the 3GS launch, when everybody was ordering it at one time, that's why it took some time to process, etc.

They configure the SIM at the factory for you. They also need to put it INSIDE the iPhone (I think).

I see, so the factory does have to do "something" to the phone, other then just pull it off the shelf. So, if you buy a phone at the Apple Store, they do that configuration at the store? I assumed all the configuration on the SIM was done when you (or the Apple Store) hooked the iPhone up to iTunes, and iTunes connected to AT&T.

Whatever, eh?

Thanks for the reply!
