I've never had AC+ previously on any device. Have never broken or lost a phone or iPad. I think I'll get it for the new iPad Pro, though. A combination of how expensive it is and also that it's got first generation tech like the tandem OLED and I don't want any hassles with getting stuff sorted out if there're any longevity issues
Why don't you get an AMEX and forget about that? And then the AMEX gives you a ton of other benefits.

As for accidents in your house, I have an insurance that cover accidents with your personal belongings (among many other things like fires, etc.), and gives you up to one yearly replacement for a device if you break it. Not sure if it covers accidents outside your house, but I believe it does.

I'm getting Applecare+ on my m4 13 inch so that after 2 years, i'll run it over with my car or drop it off a building and just pay a small replacement fee to get back a fresh new ipad.

Same thing i'm doing with my iphone 15 pro.

I use them naked, so after 2 years, there's bound to be some small scratches or dings.

I usually get AC+ for my iPhones and also my Apple Watch but have never done so for my iPad’s. This time around though I am considering it. I intend to keep the M4 for at least 3 or 4 years so my question is, do you guys usually get AC+ for your iPad or not?
I usually get AppleCare if I use my device on the go, so I have it for my mbp, m4ipp and 15pm. I would definitely recommend getting it.

I don’t know if you’re being serious….🤔
This is technically known as fraud.

Curious how AMEX protects against the iPad damage? It extends the standard warranty, but what else.

In Canada some Amex cards protect both iPads and iPhones for 2 years for theft, loss, and accidental damage. In the US it's apparently only for the iPhones. However, they cover only for a depreciated value. (My Amex depreciates the item 2% per month for 24 months, and also charges a 10% deductible for those claims.) In both countries the MacBooks are excluded. Accessories are not covered either.

All of the devices above are covered for one extra year of extended warranty on some Amex cards.

Hence, here in Canada, I bought my iPad Pro M4 on my Amex, and did not buy AppleCare+.

Ah makes sense then. I am in US and thought I was missing an Amex Platinum benefit. Wish US offered that on the iPads too. Would be awesome!

For me, I’m a wtf how did it shatter clumsy person. Always have AppleCare on anything that I carry - phone and iPads. My husband is polar opposite no insurance and he uses the same phone for like a decade. He makes sure my devices are insured, he does love me. I’m just a clutz from birth.

I would get Apple care just in case you one day accidentally throw your iPad out your apartment window and it smashes down 20 floors.

Yes, for an iPad I used on the go a lot. Just a humble iPad 8 but at the time it was an expensive item for me. It’s now my daughter’s iPad and I’ll keep the AC+ going. Given the fate of sundry Android phones…

In my country Amex protects against theft and extends for up to one year the original product warranty.

Accidents are not covered by Amex, at least in my country. But I have a house insurance that includes coverage for accidents for both iPhone and iPads.

I’ve never used any of these. I hope that are as good as they seem when I need them.

But the money alone that I have saved with not buying apple care for many years, easily pays for any new product I have to buy if I ever need it.

I just got my new iPad yesterday (still in the setting up process) and got Apple Care+ for it. I just noticed it doesn't include theft and loss. The one on my phone does. Is that normal for iPads please?

I bought it and ended up needing it for my previous iPP. Express replacement for the tablet and magic keyboard was such good customer service.

Absolutely bought it again for my M4. Wish we could also get theft and loss coverage but cest la vie.

Definitely is a good deal at BestBuy with AppleCare included with TotalTech. For me, not as good, as I get military discount with Apple, otherwise would be going thru BestBuy.

I'm curious. What are the military discounts usually like?

I bought my very first AC+ for the new iPhone, and only because I'm using it caseless. Otherwise, nope.
