Hard restart for the phone (in quick succesion, volume up, volume down and then hold power button until white Apple logo appears. Release and let restart)...mine did this as well when I got on the car the other day. Wouldn't find a POI I was entering. It was like I was connected to wifi and cell, but the phone just didn't want to "connect" when attached to CarPlay.
Thanks, yeah tried that with no luck. My issue seems to be mostly with Carplay connecting to data stored on the phone versus the internet. Stuff like Maps, Google Maps, and Waze are fine with connectivity but just those couple apps that it can't connect to content in. Tried removing, rebooting, and reinstalling the problem apps but no luck there either.

Sorry…pics of car please. ;)

I think it’s the next one I’m getting.

Latest public beta but I think it’s been like this for all the iOS 15 betas. Wireless CarPlay to my Porsche Cayenne - BBC sounds app just shows a white screen and won’t load. I can start playing from the phone app and it plays through the car system perfectly well but just can’t control it or access anything from the car’s screen. All other apps seem to be fine.

Same with all of my audio-based apps.
iHeartRadio.
Prologue.
They work just fine if initiated from the phone but none of them can be initiated from the CarPlay head unit.
The apps just hang and the head unit remains blank.

Spotify is not working correctly in term of the car recognizing the song being played (meta data) and the ability to skip tracks. It also does this in my straight BT cars as well without ACP. I am sure the app is not iOS15 ready for sure.

On latest public beta and listening to audio book with Audible, the audio will keep playing on my phone after disconnecting from carplay ('21 BMW X3 w/ wireless carplay). I need to manually hit pause on the phone after disconnecting or else it just keeps playing in my pocket

On my 21 Accord with wireless CarPlay, if I play a live album, there’s a gap between each song most times. Every now and then, more then than now, it plays a songs back to back continuously.

Beta 5 and BBC sounds still doesn’t work - wireless CarPlay to a Porsche Cayenne. Hope it’s fixed soon as I miss my BBC radio 4!

I'm seeing overexposed contrast, making it hard to see roads on maps in Light mode.
I do however, use a dongle for wireless CarPlay, so I'm not sure which is the culprit.

Sometimes I get screen "tearing" and the touch interface become unresponsive. Audio is still coming through the car when it happens. Doesn't happen too often and still 1000 times better than dealing with the built-in car interface.

Most of my issues were corrected with Beta 2 or 3, which was mostly Apple Music Crashing and some Map confusion. Only issue that lingered was with Spotify until they updated their app last week, but this was not a CarPlay issue, as it happened in my straight bluetooth cars. Meta data and the ability to skip tracks went dark.

Wireless CarPlay on my BMW was fine until I installed beta 7. Since then I'm unable to listen to Sirius while CarPlay is connected. If I switch to Sirius it will play for a few seconds, then the system switches to the CarPlay screen. To clarify, I'm not playing it through the Sirius CarPlay app, rather just through the normal Sirius system on the car's head unit.

Does the app work though? I’m guessing yes since it’s through CarPlay.

Sometimes I would prefer the app when listening to certain things so it would keep my place.

I’ll try mine in a couple of hours once I pick my car up from the shop.

I’m not sure if this is specifically related to CarPlay not knowing my location or not, but I have an automation that relies on location that I can’t get to work with CarPlay and iOS 15. The automation pulls my location and texts my wife an ETA for me getting home but when I ask Siri to do it she always says it didn’t work or there was a problem. Initiating it directly on my phone works fine.

CarPlay uses the cars built-in GPS to augment location. It SHOULD only help with providing a more precise location, but there is obviously a conflict in your case.

I would hard restart the phone and check to see if there is a firmware update for your car’s head unit.

After further research, I think this issue may be related to Waze, which I recently re-installed. Similar issues are discussed in the Reddit thread and also in the article linked below. I will uninstall Waze and see if that resolves the problem.
