Yeah he was. He prioritized the products that he sold. He made them good. You don’t need a degree to hold a title. Steve made science more useful in peoples’ everyday lives, the core role that any engineer is suppose to fulfill.

You mean dropping the pro market for the ipod? And then not wanting to go over 3.5 inch display? Or failing with every service launched? I don’t think you are aware of what an engineer does, nor how big IT organisation works.

Dropped the pro market?? I believe your mistaking him for Tim Cook. Apple is not an IT organization... I don’t claim Jobs to be perfect at all, but he made much better products than Tim. I know exactly what an engineer is. I’m going to school to be one. Jobs had much more of an engineer-like vision of the company.

Steve Jobs was no engineer. Steven Wozniak was. If you dwell in the long gone past and don't want to live in today's reality, at least get your facts right.
Sure woz was an engineer, but like I’ve said to everyone else that has taken my comment way too seriously, you don’t need a degree to be an engineer. Jobs was an engineer. I’m not dwelling in the past, and I know the things I say are facts. Thanks for the confirmation.

You know Xserve was dropped under Steve right?
Final Cut Pro X was designed with Steve Jobs input right?
Steve Jobs was a firm believer that consumers were the future, you can see many interviews of him saying that, I remember when I was working for Apple people used to tell me he was no engineer, he was just a salesman (I think both are wrong) who knows perhaps when Tim will die and the next CEO will come forward everyone will depict him as an hero.

I'm so tired of these arguments, people seating on their computer chairs telling CEOs how to run a company, I wish internet wasn't for masses, so much negativity, so much frustration, so much whine.

he had a high school diploma, he was not, not even close.
Dude you don’t need a degree to be an engineer. The first thing I was taught in my very first engineering class was what an engineer actually is. Someone who takes science and applies it to daily life. Anyone can be a freakin engineer.

Well I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job at keeping myself under control, not being negative or whining. Just stating my opinion on the subject.

Great thing.
Unfortunately Tim can‘t attend as he has to stand behind Craig and look over his shoulder, so that he doesn‘t brick more devices with his series of untested updates.

This is total nonsense. The ADL is a hate group

Absolutely correct. The ADL is a disgusting organisation who routinely target people who they deem to be an enemy of their extreme far-left political agenda. They are anti-American in terms of their continual attempts to shut down free speech online. They have extremely subjective and undefined concepts about things like so-called "hate speech" - something the Supreme Court has unanimously ruled DOES NOT EXIST. In other words, "hate speech" IS free speech.

They work with social media sites to routinely censor and deplatform anybody they deem a threat to their hyper "progressive" worldview. Open borders, extreme liberalism, and make no mistake about it - firmly anti-white.

Let's be absolutely clear about what the ADL are. The ADL are an anti-American, extreme far-left hate organisation that is systematically undermining the very fabric of American society. A disgusting affront to civil liberty, decency and the very values that made the US one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known.

Shame on Tim Cook for associating with them and shame on Apple for embracing these hateful far-left degenerates.

I’m not trying to paint a donkey. My point is that jobs had skills and priorities that were much more favorable to apple’s Products than Cook’s skills and priorities.

People aren’t interested in apple’s societal vision. They’re interested in their products.
jobs just talked about things like he really understood their use and how much he likes things. Cook just says this is the best iPhone ever. The best iPad ever but it doesn't sound like he really cares about what it is. He just cares about making money.

Organisation desperately seeking validation for their new award category meet CEO desperately seeking validation for his place among the pantheon of tech CEOs.

Nice bit of mutual PR for each in their respective crusades to stand out from the crowd.

I hope you don’t feel the same way about doctors and lawyers.

You know, every Mac now comes with a bundled dictionary. Using it well helps you avoid making that kind of statement.

The ADL fights antisemitism. And, as you can see, some people really hate that, and see it as being "anti-white."

Then do something about it instead of whine if he wins an award, what purpose are you serving right now? Are you jealous or something? Gosh

Jobs used to tell you not only what screen size you ever need, but also how to hold your phone, were you invoking the great engineering capability of Steve during the antenna gate? A bet you were raging and foaming just like now.

And, in here he can get “Courage against hate from MacRumours members” AWARD too

They used to hate Steve in the same way, internet is a blow off valve

Next year coherence awards is going to be yours.

"Steve cared about customers he made a flawed device putting aesthetic first, but then he gave me a free cover to hide that aesthetic"

And this is just one of the many example, you people are lacking of tools to see the world for what it really is, you blame Apple to be politic but I can see a lot of weird politic and part taken in your judgements, having said that I've spend enough time for this useless argument, see you at the next whine.

Steve had many patents with his name on it (of course with other engineers)... Timmy?

Why are people so narrow minded? The man has a B.S. in industrial engineering. Why can’t you do two or more things at once? Remember Jobs was busy with Pixar too. Cook is both CEO and engaged with human rights stuff.

Tim will never be the product genius Steve was but he does other great thing for humanity and I like that.

I also couldn't help but notice that the really, really ignorant comments on this post were liked by "people" who have long been on my blocklist for, you guessed it, making really, really ignorant comments.

I'm quite interested in Apple's social responsibility, actually. They could make the best devices in the world but if they were pushing hate, I wouldn't buy them.
