Why are people so narrow minded? The man has a B.S. in industrial engineering. Why can’t you do two or more things at once? Remember Jobs was busy with Pixar too. Cook is both CEO and engaged with human rights stuff.

Tim will never be the product genius Steve was but he does other great thing for humanity and I like that.

The man runs sweatshops in China.

Are you serious? lol.

well Foxcom salaries for people who build surface and playstation are lower...Do you expect him to change China labour law? Are you are aware that Foxcom is a contractor? They are very transparent about it, there is a webpage dedicate with annual reports.

I’m not trying to paint a donkey. My point is that jobs had skills and priorities that were much more favorable to apple’s Products than Cook’s skills and priorities.

People aren’t interested in apple’s societal vision. They’re interested in their products.
Actually I am. Any company that is for the people and planet is my type of company. It is what makes me want to switch and buy Apple products. Having any kind of ethics and moral compass by a large Corp and it's top level Ceo's is good thing.

I also couldn't help but notice that the really, really ignorant comments on this post were liked by "people" who have long been on my blocklist for, you guessed it, making really, really ignorant comments.

I'm quite interested in Apple's social responsibility, actually. They could make the best devices in the world but if they were pushing hate, I wouldn't buy them.
But... but... he just said people aren't interested... so.... sorry I have to go lie down.

Absolutely correct. The ADL is a disgusting organisation who routinely target people who they deem to be an enemy of their extreme far-left political agenda. They are anti-American in terms of their continual attempts to shut down free speech online. They have extremely subjective and undefined concepts about things like so-called "hate speech" - something the Supreme Court has unanimously ruled DOES NOT EXIST. In other words, "hate speech" IS free speech.

They work with social media sites to routinely censor and deplatform anybody they deem a threat to their hyper "progressive" worldview. Open borders, extreme liberalism, and make no mistake about it - firmly anti-white.

Let's be absolutely clear about what the ADL are. The ADL are an anti-American, extreme far-left hate organisation that is systematically undermining the very fabric of American society. A disgusting affront to civil liberty, decency and the very values that made the US one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known.

Shame on Tim Cook for associating with them and shame on Apple for embracing these hateful far-left degenerates.
How much self awareness do you have to lack, to call a group a hate group and say they embrace degenerates...? The mind boggles.

Yes, it's called corporate social responsibility and most big companies are signed up to it. It's the kind of thing you do when you want to be engaged with the wider world (sorry if this sounds like it's aimed at you, it's more shock at the low numbers of people here actually in favour of a company being against racism, but hey... 'Internet')

Well, clearly some people are, or he wouldn't be getting recognition and awards.
Perhaps "people" care less about what a gaggle of obsessive types on the internet whose hobby is buying electronics think.

The comments here are rediculous. Guy wins award for standing up to hate. How do people respond? With hate!

Some Apple fans here are a prime example of what is wrong with the World today. Full of self importance and no compassion.

Yep. It was handy that they liked such a wackadoodle comment, because it made it easier to ignore them in bulk.

Then do something about it instead of whine if he wins an award, what purpose are you serving right now? Are you jealous or something? Gosh

Jobs used to tell you not only what screen size you ever need, but also how to hold your phone, were you invoking the great engineering capability of Steve during the antenna gate? A bet you were raging and foaming just like now.

[doublepost=1542283880][/doublepost]

They used to hate Steve in the same way, internet is a blow off valve
In another words “past was always better than NOW is”

Have not been as satisfied with iOS since Forstall (not necessarily Jobs).

I like Cook. The world is changing and iOS is stuck between 2007 and 2018 (imagine 1996 and 2018... same time-span).

It has more features, but is more buggy. Easier to use, harder to fix.

Has nothing to do with the values. They haven't changed much. Jobs picked Cook.

"Lack of innovation" is a lie.

Nope. I think his name was Steve Jobs.

Steve wasn’t an engineer. He didn’t have a degree of any kind. Disregarding education I’m not sure he even had an engineering mind. Bill Gates looked down on him because he couldn’t code. He didn’t make or directly design anything himself (to my knowledge). He himself said that his ability was to assemble a team that could do great things. I’d add “vision” to his abilities. But engineer? No.

I liked Apple more when they had an engineer for a CEO, not a politician/businessman.
1. Steve Jobs was never an engineer.

2. No matter how look at it there's absolutely ZERO wrong with accepting an anti-hate reward, and absolutely nothing wrong with a CEO having a moral compass.
[doublepost=1542400881][/doublepost]
Doesn’t matter. Jobs WAS an engineer. More of an engineer than Cook ever has been.
No he wasn't. Jobs was never an engineer while Cook literally has a degree in engineering. Try again.
[doublepost=1542400926][/doublepost]
Great. So now we’re mixing politics and companies even more.
It's not political. There's no way to spin accepting an anti-hate award as "politics" you're just a genuinely terrible person.
[doublepost=1542401007][/doublepost]
CEO or philanthropist? Pick one or get off the pot
How about no? I trust Cook's judgement over yours, considering Apple is currently the most successful it's ever been.
[doublepost=1542401063][/doublepost]
This is total nonsense. The ADL is a hate group
Low effort trolling.

No, it’s all politics. The ADL born is just a liberal “social justice warrior” get-together and it’s not “anti-hate” it’s really just a front to censor people they don’t agree with. They labeled a meme (pepe the frog) a hate symbol. They’re the one who gets all upset and call something racist when it isn’t.

No, the ADL is anti-hate. It just so happens that most conservatives lack a moral compass and tend to be bad people in general, so they apparently associate compassion and moral decency with liberals. Also, "social justice warrior" is a made up snarl word used by reactionaries and people on the alt-right spectrum to refer to anyone left of Hitler. If you want to have a productive discussion you shouldn't be flinging buzzwords around in bad faith.

And their decision to label pepe the frog a hate symbol is an accurate one, because despite the wishes of its creator it was co-opted by one of the largest neo-nazi/white supremacist groups in the world.

No, the ADL is anti-hate.

With you here. There are people who think Jews shouldn't fight back against antisemitism.

It just so happens that most conservatives lack a moral compass and tend to be bad people in general

Too broad a brush. There's more to conservatism than the alt-right Kekistan types who've popped up here and gone straight into my ignores, fortunately, and it's been my pleasure to know many conservatives who are just as nauseated by the antisemitism and racism of the alt-right as I am.

You are all very Strong women and Brave "men" on your first world problems glasshouse. Meanwhile in Syria the child casualties the last couple of years have reached astronomical numbers. But who cares.....it’s all about our gender issues and hate speech these days. The funny thing is that these kind of groups and movements divide us and spread hate among people more than actually bringing us all together.
