Gotta love the hurry up and wait process , its kind of like going on a trip: Hurry up to get to the airport, hurry up and check in, hurry up and go through security, hurry up and get to the gate, hurry up and and wait to board the plane, board the plane and wait for take off, hurry up and wait to get of plane, hurry up and wait for luggage, hurry up and wait to get rental car, hurry up and get to hotel, hurry up to check in to the hotel, and finally get to the room. All along the process hurrying up to get to the next point and wait. I can't wait to get to my local UPS Hub and get my phone!!!

Can you just call UPS and have them hold the package at their hub for pickup instead of sending it out for delivery?

Fair enough, but then why bump some and not the rest then....given all things equal, it should literally be in order of when you placed your order, not because you were or weren’t on the iUP program.

So uh when did you start receiving scans? Few hours after our plane landed right ? Huh..Beyond Doubtful. They aren't holding up thousands of shipments for planes that are over a day behind to catch up. The conveyor belts don't stop moving and trucks/planes are constantly leaving Kentucky, but whatever it takes to sleep at night
That is what I did, took some waiting to get through automated steps to talk to a live person, I wanted to confirm that I would be able to pick up my phone when they open. The hub that I can pick mine up only has two time frames, 9-10:30 AM and 4:30-6:00 pm. I didn't want to get there at 9 and be told to come back at 4:30. The lady told me mine would be ready for pick up at 9:00 AM hope she is right!
I can finally mention an update to my in store pickup. I just received a text from Apple about my reservation tomorrow evening and I was even able to add the reservation to Wallet for a quick check in! Unfortunately because my work day is long, I won't be picking up until 7:30pm.
Nope. The local CC closest to me is in Sunnyvale. Pretty easy for me to get to and not too busy. This will be the 4th "launch day" pick up there for me so pretty excited about it. I need it to make it to Oakland and then drive from Oakland to Sunnyvale CC and it should be ready to pick-up by tomorrow morning. Much better than last year when I had to wait the weekend because my 7 Plus was delayed from the Super Typhoon in Taiwan so it missed the launch day arrival. UPS made up for it by having Saturday delivery at no extra charge, but I had changed it for pick-up at the CC so had to wait until Monday. BTW, saw your pic of Valley Fair. Are you sure there aren't any lines as of today? Seems odd to me, but usually their lines start outside where people camp out and they walk them into the mall in the morning.
I don't think we have definitive proof that it's not in order of when the orders were placed. I ordered mine at about 2:15am central as soon as I got access to the Apple store app - but I also have iUP, AT&T and pre-approved myself earlier in the week so who knows.
