Bit early don’t you think. 🤔😂

Going to reserve a silver pro max 6.7” for pick up from apple soon as pre orders open. 😁

What model you getting?

Definitely going for the regular 12 non-pro. Been going back and forth on getting the SE, but going to wait and see if this model is going to be smaller or as small as the SE.

Too early for me. I want to see what they are really offering this year. Skipped last year and it was the first year I never got the new phone. My XS Max is just fine. Not ready to drop 1K plus on a phone that isn’t much different than the one I have now.

I agree. I kind of regret getting the 11 Pro even though it’s been a great phone. Looking to go to the SE or the 5.4” Pro this year.

I'll likely not be upgrading this year. The 11 Pro Max I have is perfect and works perfectly fine for my needs. I may however check it out during the Holiday return period.

Thank you for making this thread! Very excited to be here.

12 Pros will allegedly be 6.1” and 6.7”. I wish they were making a 5.4” or even a 5.8” Pro...

Oops. I meant 12 non-pro. I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t even need a “pro” model phone anymore. Just something simple that gets the job done.

I’ll be preordering a Silver 256GB or 512GB (it all depends which one has a earlier ship date)12 Pro Max outright through Apple! My XS Max will be my 1st backup phone and SE 2020 will be the 2nd backup phone! I can’t wait to start preordering. I usually upgrade through T-Mobile but I switched to Verizon on 8/18, and got the SE 2020 for free so I have to pay outright through Apple.

It’s wild how many people who are into phones have backup phones. How often do people actually need a backup phone? Especially a high quality phone like a max or a new se? I can see keeping an old iPhone 7 around collecting dust, but maybe I’m just not seeing what everyone else is.

I keep my old devices as backup phones in case I have to be without my main device for a couple days. You never know what will happen, and I have 2 small children who can end up dropping my phone and breaking it (have always had AppleCare+ for my devices) so I may be without a device for a few hours or few days. When Apple had the battery replacement special a year or 2 ago, I took advantage of it and was without my X for 4 hours so having my 7+ as a backup saved my life that day.

I agree with this. There are instances where a backup phone is useful. AppleCare offers the option to mail in your device (non express replacement if you don’t want the hold on your card) and in that period of time you’d be without a phone for however long. If you have a backup phone, you won’t have to worry. I plan on getting the SE 2020 at some point to either use as a main phone or a backup phone depending on what the 12 is going to look like.

It’s about that time again! Going to be ordering from Apple again this year if I do go for the 12. Who’s excited?
I'm out. Apple phones are just getting too expensive.

I've been an iPhone user since 3gs days and just migrated to Pixel 4a from an 8 Plus. (Thought about an SE 2020 but it is too darn small).

Took a bit of getting used to different gestures and some app navigation variance but overall it has been a seamless transition. All of my contacts, messages, notes, etc. made it over during setup.

Only thing I really miss is efficient SMS messaging across Mac, iPad and iPhone platforms.

The expensive part I agree with. I’m trying to find that “happy medium” for me in size and price so that I can keep it for a good 2-3 years. Either the SE or the 12 but we’ll see what the 12 has to offer. If the 12 is 5.4” and is priced around the 11, may jump on it.

I’ve never preordered through Apple before so this will be exciting for me. For the X, XS/XS Max, 11 Pro/11 Pro Max preorders, I did follow the threads to have something to read. I will admit, I loved reading how some people were able to track their iPhones leaving China, the flight their phones were on all the way to their doorstep. I’m eagerly awaiting to be apart of that this year.
