I’ve never preordered through Apple before so this will be exciting for me. For the X, XS/XS Max, 11 Pro/11 Pro Max preorders, I did follow the threads to have something to read. I will admit, I loved reading how some people were able to track their iPhones leaving China, the flight their phones were on all the way to their doorstep. I’m eagerly awaiting to be apart of that this year.

I did it for the first time last year, and it was fun. and ordering SIM free from Apple has saved me tons of headaches, too. Switched to two carriers this year and no issues with either since it is unlocked.

So, whos gonna make the jump from 11 Pro/Max?

What's your thoughts?

Can’t see many people upgrading from the 11 pros, unless they’re on a yearly upgrade program or their contract is up for renewal.

Most of the people that will be upgrading, will be people with the xs series and lower.

Got a xs max myself, got jealous for a whole year checking out peoples night mode photos ? and them carrying on about the 11 pro max legendary battery life ??

iPhone 12 pro max where are you ???

Depending on how much the regular 12 is, I may jump to that from the 11 Pro. Wasn't planning on upgrading this year, but the phone is just too heavy and I want something light. My fingers cramp up sometimes trying to find a comfortable spot to hold it. May get the SE 2 if the 12 doesn't offer anything special.

First iPhone since the 6+, I've been with Samsung for past few years. Cant wait to get that pre-order in, 12 Pro Max is the plan possibly in the midnight blue. Just picked up an iPhone 10 to tied me over until the 12s are released, loving being back in the apple universe but man the 10 is definitely a small phone!

Gee it’s not that heavy, think you will find the small 12 will be heavier than the SE anyway.

I always preordered through T-Mobile and those threads were fun and active, but not as fun as the Apple Preordering thread.

Don't be so sure.. I'm also with the 11 Pro Max and seriously thinking make the jump.

I know, I am planning on waiting for the hype to die down before buying it, maybe. But who knows, people are keeping their phones for longer now. Plus so many out of jobs, etc

The expensive part I agree with. I’m trying to find that “happy medium” for me in size and price so that I can keep it for a good 2-3 years. Either the SE or the 12 but we’ll see what the 12 has to offer. If the 12 is 5.4” and is priced around the 11, may jump on it.

I thought about the iPhone 11... just getting tired of the interface and feeling that iOS is going retrograde (with "new & improved" features that are irrelevant for me). One of the key factors in my decision was the size of the 4a which is in between SE 2020 and 8 Plus.

Definitely a learning curve and there are not as many conveniences in terms of interoperability between phone/tablet/MBP. That being said, as a phone, camera, tapatalk/txt/reddit/social media device I give it a solid 8 out of 10. I even found an app (Black Player) that is more like what I enjoyed of the iPhone Music app before it became cumbersome, non-intuitive and unwieldy (and it works with my AirPod gen-1's similarly too).

This year will be the first time I've ever preordered an iPhone! I currently have a 64GB XS and I'm out of space daily, hoping they all start at 128GB which is just the right amount for me. My battery health is also at 84% after less than two years. Can't decide if I want to go 12 Max (6.1) or 12 Pro Max (6.7). I'll have to wait and see features, colors, etc...

Not sure where I'll order from quite yet, I'm thinking Best Buy or maybe right from Apple.

Apple.com is a blast.. especially when the orders start shipping and you get to start tracking it from overseas all the way to your house. My first experience was last year and I had a blast.

That was one of the highlights following the Apple Preordering thread. So many people tracked their phones leaving China, the plane they were on down to when UPS rang their doorbell. I’m so excited to be a part of that this year.

I love pre-ordering time also. I have an 11 Pro which I love and am not sure I will get a 12. If I do it would be the 12 Pro but I'm concerned about it being larger or heavier than what I have and also not crazy about flat edges.
