I wouldn’t think so, I mean, didn’t have this issue when ordered the iPhone Pro 3 weeks ago, which I returned to get the bigger phone. I was able to choose CC as soon as the label was created then.

I’m hoping Apple is right with being able to give me the tracking # once it scans again. Do you have any other ideas how? UPS by reference doesn’t give the whole tracking # anymore.

Try the UPS App. It should be there. Also, track it by reference see if it shows up.

At some point they will email you a tracking number but we usually see it in UPS MyChoice first. We're old hands at this. Don't bother calling Apple or UPS asking where your phone is. We know better than the Tier 1 folks you will get where your phone is. Trust in the process.
Btw guys, there doesn’t seem to be a 2 phone pre-order limit. Ordered 6 pro maxes from same card , 4 against one Apple ID and 2 against another and all 6 are PTS

UPS app won’t show it because my address in UPS My Choice was my apartment. I went to update it and UPS needs the verification code to update it.. which is being mailed to me 7-14 business days.
UPS track by reference only shows me what I posted.. the last 4 digits of the tracking # and the “status”. That’s it.
They won’t email it to me until Thursday once it lands in the US. This sucks.

I ordered a Pro Max 256GB PB, still shows as PFS and no data on UPS my choice or search by reference.
Anyone on the same situation?
If Apple quoted you a day, it’ll get there on that date. Trust me, I’ve ordered plenty of things from them; just because your status hasn’t updated like everyone else’s doesn’t mean your order won’t arrive on time. I’ve gotten emails from Apple telling me my item shipped on Thursday when I already had the tracking number and knew it actually shipped Tuesday but for some reason they waited to tell me. If Apple quotes a day (like launch day), it’ll get there on launch day.
