There will be a series of flights over the next few days, and all the 11/13 phones will arrive on time... ok, maybe 99.9%

So, if you’re looking for something to do as you wait for Friday, and you’re thinking about watching Hereditary...don’t: you’ll curl up into a ball of whimpering horror and might not answer the door when UPS arrives. 😱😱😱
OMG I just read the pilot summary, and it sounds hilarious. But then again, I tend to like the horror genre. I’m putting this movie on my watch list.

Hmm, only $1. Is the phone the only thing in your order? I have a case, phone and HomePod mini in my order. But they charged me for the case Friday night, now the phone(full price). I guess they just like me more..lol 😩
yes just the phone, hopefully maybe tomorrow I get a full charge.

I read on 9 t0 5 Mac that all iphones are now delayed. The Blue and Gold 128GB & 256GB are 2-3 weeks delayed now. The only one available at Launch they said was Silver 512GB.
Yeah of course the shipping times have started to delay because since Friday they have gone through whatever inventory was available for a November 13th delivery and now if you order it's going to take a week longer. Shipping dates used to slip much later much sooner. Like within an hour of pre-orders going live.

I’ve visited that Miracle Mile store! 😊

I usually set up my new iphone in store, too, but I’m wondering if they’ll let people hang out in store long enough to back up and restore with pandemic concerns. 🤷‍♂️

also, don’t get so excited that you do this:

Ah. 'Pandemic'? Well, I had someone 'gift' me an iMac, and I had to go pick it up, in the height of the Pandemic! I arrived, it was blisteringly hot that day. Like WOW! I stood out in the hell fury of a cloudless day, no sunscreen or hope of avoiding sublimation, waiting for the opportunity to claim my iMac. (They had a bin of umbrellas, but it didn't cross their mind) People were grumbling that 'They are just wandering around, looking at stuff' and shooting hate looks, but the store minions were not about to stop someone from 'browsing' (for things they didn't need). Oddly, people that said they were there to 'pick up something', and self identified in the line, were escorted into the store, and to an eager sales droid to help them on their way. Browsing wasn't frowned upon, officially, but if you were standing around looking at the ceiling, you were 'attended', and urged to find something. I was 'escorted from one possible add-on to another. The assigned sales droid was very happy when I was about to pay. (I can;t imagine being in their shoes, people just browsing always drove me nuts)

My experience, years ago (not as many, oddly, as it feels right at the moment) was 'Oh, I'm waiting for my iPhone to backup, to do the restore on my new one!' and the sales droid would say some form of 'Oh, okay', and occasionally suggest partaking of an 'educational session', rather than stand at the tables, blocking would be actual paying customers browsing for things they might actually buy, or just walking away. It was very low key though, actually.

My recent experience? Unless you self-identified, as I said above, you were expected to 'do your business', and leave. (Not unlike a porta-potty at an outdoor concert venue, but close) People in the sweltering line wanted people that appeared to be 'browsing' to die.

I imagine people that haven't 'prepared for the Holy Delivery', will get similar hate looks and curses showered on them now from those waiting in line.

Oh, funny of funny, one sales droid, on that fateful day in Chicago (Beautiful city), did say that I should have backed up my iPhone before I got there (prepared). My only way of saving myself was uttering the two words 'hotel wifi'. I was scoffed at, and ignored for the duration of my stay. (I felt guilty, trying to restore my iPhone, and left after it looked like it was going to take a while)

Your mileage may vary, but wear a mask, and BE KIND! Don''t be a jerk. And, obviously, backup before you get there.

MORE CHARDONNAY!!!🍷 (I have a bad day tomorrow. Might as well get a start on it tonight)

Still available for pickup in many apple stores, so they’re going to be ready for those silly people that didn’t set 4 alarms to order last Friday morning when the orders went live

It’s my first plane ride with Apple and I want to ride first class
I found out that the early iPhones all come into the states at the same time, but the 'steerage' passengers just have to wait for the second part of the journey a little longer. I guess that assumes the version/model isn't that sought after. *shrug*

Just checked my tracking and the request to hold at a CC worked! It acknowledged I have requested a change. Im sure it’ll be reflecting in my package progress when the phone gets scanned in KY
It *should*, but I've had a couple of times where UPS has had issues stopping a delivery that was scheduled for home. It's only happened probably twice in years, but once I had to race home to pick up a package that showed delivered.

Please don’t try and make it sound ok for a trillion dollar company. Lol The ONLY reason they kept the pro phones at same price is cause it’s a COVID year. They shipped 5 watt chargers for 20 years.🤣
I'm not trying to make it sound 'ok' but perhaps trying to explain that it's not Apple 'jipping' their customers because a trillion dollar company wants to make a few more bucks this year. They don't price devices based on public perception in a pandemic especially one where they sent their own employees home for months and then paid them even though their stores were closed and found other roles for them within the company when necessary.

Of course you are free to continue to believe that such a company makes decisions only to cheat it's customers for an extra buck. I'm not sure why you would want to patronize that kind of company and further encourage it's behavior but you do you.

And by the way the term you were reaching for was 'gypping' which is a derogatory term.

Ha! Yeah, I’ve told them “you have better WiFi” when I’m restoring a phone. 😂

So, do you prefer Gino’s or Giordano’s pizza?
