Should the people that pre-ordered to pick-up at the Apple store on Friday 11/13/2020 should they also be seeing their credit cards charge by now? I was only charged the pre-authorization amount of $1.00, nothing else since Friday.

I looked at that option, and as soon as I saw Delivers: Monday, 11/16, hitting the Back key was surely my friend.
Ha not for me it shows this when I select a UPS Store:

Says Estimated. likewise I never had issues with the UPS Store pick up on my end and not once has it delayed, so I'll take my chances. *Knock on wood. haha.

Nope, you'll see a charge around Wednesday-Thursday for in-store pick up.

It’s the same... that’s the thing :/ But I guess the problem is because I'm in Puerto Rico.:. maybe the system doesn't work very well here. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks!

I could’ve sworn I seen someone say for destination choose United States and put in the zip code to where you live at. Try that.

They are trying to keep pricing under control. There were several component upgrades this year for all the phones and the hardware/licensing would have driven the price up. You pay for everything in that box, including the sticker, and even the box. At least they did a solid on the 20W by pricing it $10 less than the 18W to ease the pain a bit of buying it. It's always a balancing act on pricing for them. Those new OLED screens and 5G components on all the 12's probably forced their hand. Either the $699 iPhone 11 becomes the $849-900 iPhone 12 or you make some compromises to keep that price jump to $100 and not $200.
Please don’t try and make it sound ok for a trillion dollar company. Lol The ONLY reason they kept the pro phones at same price is cause it’s a COVID year. They shipped 5 watt chargers for 20 years.🤣

I know! One year, I knew I was going to be in Chicago on the 'day of availability', and took the chance and ordered TWO iPhones. I had to order them separately, two transactions, but they both went through. Odd that I only got a 'ready to be picked up' notice for one of them. So after a boring morning of 'yadda yadda' meetings, I trudged down the miracle mile to the Apple Store, and was surprised to get both iPhones. There were at least 50 people lined up waiting out the door and around the corner. I felt a little guilty, walking in to claim my booty. I browsed around a little, to give the iPhone gods time to arrange for them to be there.

Then a minion asked if he could help. 'I'm here to pick up an iPhone', Oh, right this way, and no one was waiting. (WHAT?) They asked for my name, and credit card (they were paid on that card), and was given two little bags. I combined them into one, and gave one bag back. I browsed around a little more, and bought a power brick on my Apple app, and walked out. I had a guy following me out of the Apple store. I kept seeing him out of the corner of my eye, and I kept to the storefronts and the big to the store side, and I eventually lost him. Well, either that, or it was the guilt over seeing so many people (I swear it was even more peopl by the time I left) waiting for their chance to choose what was left in stock.

I got to the hotel, and started the conversion process, and almost immediately cursed that I didn't back up, initialize, and restore at least my iPhone while I was there. It took me at least three times to get a backup of my original iPhone, and I couldn't get it to restore. DOH!!! I went back to the Apple Store, and didn;t see anyone waiting, it was later in the day. I was able to get a full backup to iCloud, but ran out of time to get the restore done. I left with an iPhone with no address book, or even logged in to iCloud. I felt guilty for the people that were trying to contact me during that trip, but no one did. (Be careful. May you find yourself easy to live without too!)

So, after all this Chardonny fueled verbosity, order your iPhone for store pickup. Back it up before you leave, or make a point to 'browse' while you are backing it up on their wifi. Get the new object of worship, and initialize it, and enable it, and do 'the restore' before you leave. Block a few hours, and maybe pack a lunch/snack. And walk past the waiting people, with your new booty safe in a pocket. A new working iPhone...
I’ve visited that Miracle Mile store! 😊

I usually set up my new iphone in store, too, but I’m wondering if they’ll let people hang out in store long enough to back up and restore with pandemic concerns. 🤷‍♂️

also, don’t get so excited that you do this:

Please know that I was joking as I’m jealous as hell. 😁
Ah. LMAO you got me.

If I had UPS CC, I would definitely choose UPS CC over a UPS Store, and the UPS store would be my very last resort o_O.

Also UPS CC has weird hours in my area, and there are times when they don't even open. but it's 10 to 12:30 pm and then 4 pm to 6 pm weekdays.
