To those who have made accommodations to pick up at CC (either via email or calling), has your tracking reflected the changes?

Not yet. I did receive a personal call from one of the reps at my CC to confirm that I wanted to pick it up at 10am (opening time) and I said yes, and he said it will be ready for me.

I always restore from the encrypted backup on my MBP. Syncs more info than iCloud. I know I should do a fresh install but I don’t have the patience.
Whats the difference between a regular iCloud and encrypted? What does that mean? Also I don’t have enough storage on my Mac so do u contain all that info on ur Mac?

iCloud uploads are naturally encrypted, if I remember right. The old way of storing backups on Macs used to store the files unencrypted unless noted (plus what Apple_Robert said)

Mine still shows “preparing to ship”. Last go round I could find my tracking with a reference number but I can’t this time.

Man, can I say I missed being on this wait forums? It's been 3 years since my last jump and totally missed it. Plus things are WAY slow at work, so I don't mind wasting time with y'all. ;)

Yes, this. The first couple of years of restoring from icloud backup were awful and painful, but these days there's really no better way to do it. It restores everything a physical iTunes encrypted backup does.

If do you have time please share some pictures of the Apple Park. It would be amazing. Can you fly out drones there?
It looks like it's just within controlled airspace in the FAA B4UFLY app. So it would require an exception through LAANC. Also, I've heard before that Apple's security may try to detect Drones and track down the pilot. This article says they would call the police and attempt to get you ticketed. https://www.kqed.org/arts/13829679/apple-cracks-down-on-drones-filming-construction-of-apple-park

My OCD I guess, Yes I do.. every year its like my ritual. The wife thinks I’m crazy too but I only have like 30 apps total very minimalistic
I have a lot of apps and organization. Is there any downside to restoring from iCloud? I want my new phone to function optimally but I also do not want to spend 3 days setting up my new phone.

You manually download every app and all settings? What is the reason for this?
I work as a Quality Engineer in my role in mobile and have soooo much crap rolling into my device (Betas, uploads, downloads, deletes, you name it). It might be a placebo effect, but I always find fresh wipes and installs just squash a bunch of crap. Plus, many of us in the field tend to test on clean environments, so these apps are just designed to run better on clean slates.

A good number of pages ago, someone posted when their phone was produced using their serial number. I didn't pay for Apple Care, but I was able to find my iPhone 12 mini's serial number listed as one of the reference numbers used by UPS, starting with F4. Out of curiosity, I plugged it into chipmunk.nl's wonderful tool and found some really interesting information! It was probably produced roughly a week ago!
Hey thanks, I couldn’t find the SN on the UPS site but I did get AppleCare and found it in my confirmation email. Yes, great info, love the chipmunk site! Mine too was produced sometime last week. Interestingly, it also says assembled in the USA. Not sure how that’s possible, assemble it in the USA and then send it to China? Clearly they’re not assembling it once it reaches the USA. Anyway, too much fun.
