I haven't had any luck with tracking these last few years as I prefer in store pick up.

I am anxiously awaiting the 12 Pro Max with 6.7" screen. Could care less if it's 60Hz.

Can someone that has had their iPhone held at their local UPS Customer Center tell me when I should make the request on the UPS app?

eta: Looked through the iPhone 11 thread, it looks like most people made the request after the planes left China.

I bought my 11 Pro Max last year from best buy because they allowed me to stay on the ATT Next plan--upgrade at the 12 month mark!! So this year I hope best buy still has that option and I will be getting me the 256 I-phone 12 Pro Max!!

I do in store because even if you are able to add alternate delivery or signature waiver, they don't freaking read it and still leave a missed you tag. Why even have the option????

I put in the request to have mine held at the hub as soon as I got a notification through the UPS app that the label was created. I had no issues picking it up that morning at 8am. This year since my daughter is virtual learning, I’m going to take the day off and use one of my 2 hour delivery confirmed windows with UPS to wait for my device! Come on iPhone 12 Pro Max!!

Thanks for the replies!

UPS used to deliver to my house by 9AM, but they changed the route, and deliveries are between 3PM and 6PM. The UPS Customer Center is 10 minutes from me, I' ll pick it up when they open at 8AM.

Thinking about doing that this year, except picking up at UPS store instead of the customer center.

If you haven't done it already sign up for the "UPS My Choice" now so you don't have to deal with it when you really need it.

I have no problems making the request right when I receive the tracking number. I even do it after I see this: Order Processed: Ready for UPS and still be able to pick it up at the UPS CC.

I guess it depends tho. I've had great lucks that when I did request to pick it up at the UPS Store sometimes, I never got a delay and was still able to pick up on the original scheduled date. It's a hit or miss. But I always prefer to pick mine up at the UPS CC just to be on the safe side.

Edit: I misread so I had to revise.

I've always been hesitant to do the UPS store route because in the past the estimated delivery date got increased when I chose one. If I selected a UPS CC it didn't.
