I really hope they announce it next week. I’m so tired of the rumors. Dont feel like waiting till October for new event. Ugh!
That would be a crazy event.. at a minimum there would be watch s6, new iPads and new iPhones. I don't see why they can't announce and just be honest "Look, we will be accepting orders on [this day] and we know it's a little later than usual".

The problem is here is my plan allows me an upgrade for free every year - if you upgrade before the 12 months there is a £100 fee. So I can upgrade for free in about a week (anniversary of when the iPhone 11 was released last year). So this year if they release in October/November that then means I cant upgrade for free until October/November next year, so if Apple go back to September launch I either pay £100 on top of the £80/£90 a month or wait two months....

Its a hard life!

Have lived in Dubai for the past decade.. always have to pay cold hard cash for every new phone. They've only now started payment plans on phones but there's something nice about saving up and not having to worry about that. Phone bills are outrageous here but I get 250mb/s DL speeds on 4g LTE.

Last year it was 8 AM EST. However in previous years I think it was at like 3:01 AM EST. I only started preordering last year, so if that is incorrect someone feel free to correct me.
Yea that's right. It doesn't affect me right now, but I definitely think 8AM Eastern is stupid. People could be on the way or already at work. At least 3AM, you just set an alarm, pop up, order, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

EDIT: Plus at 3AM, the dedicated are ordering. 8AM you are fighting with the general pop too who just happen to be up anyhow, so they order.

So, I can have the latest and greatest iPhone. I don’t feel like waiting till November for the Pro Max model. I rather order the regular model play with it until the pro max model gets released.

yes I know, I’m a sheep ?
Tricky part is you need to know the later preorder date first so you can order the first so you are still in the return period with the first.

Yea that's the second half of the issue for anyone on installments too who can upgrade in 12m. You're paying extra payments until the delayed phone arrives, and then if the next year is normal, you need to pay up to 12 payments to upgrade then.

Some of us don't have the luxury of falling back asleep that easily. I was thrilled when they switched last year.

I'll just return it within 14 days lol or I may end up keeping it.

Once they announce the iPhones, they will list all the pre-order dates for all models I'm assuming.

I use this app for recording my transactions when saving and I liked seeing the money jar fill up. I’m going to start doing doing this every 2 years and pay outright for my Apple devices.

I hate the new preorder time. At 8am I clock in to start casing my route at work so I wouldn’t have a chance to preorder until I hit the street to deliver mail between 9:30-10:30am. The best thing for me would be to take off work and preorder. I’m also taking off on the day my device arrives. I have a UPS premium account until the end of the year (thanks T-Mobile Tuesday’s), so I can pick a 2 hour window for my phone to be delivered.

I hope they go back to the old preorder time. I loved staying up with my fellow iPhone lovers to wait on preorders to go live. It's like only the dedicated were up that late to order.

Agree. Although waking up at 2:30A and constantly refreshing the apple store app/webpage at 3a waiting for the store to go live was frustrating at times, there was an excitement for sure.

Not necessarily! The iPhone X was delayed and didn't launch until November. What they did is let us IUP members pay much less in the first payment, which is usually over $100.

looks like iPhone is being announced next week.

Also the Apple Calendar Event for next week is 2 hours long. Doesn't mean it WILL be two hours, but that seemed odd to me for an event that was allegedly meant for iPads & watches.

I assume so but I don't know. I always upgrade every year in the program so I haven't hit that scenario myself.

Cant wait to track the iPhone in a cargo plane straight from China.
