Ah, so it did come with 14.1. No big deal, 14.2 update was pretty smooth on the XS Max.

What I did think of 1/2 asleep. In the past I'd get the new phone - set it up as completely new...but simply swap old SIM card to new phone...no problem.

Do these new 5G phones have a special 5G sim card? If so..ugh, does this mean I do have to contact Verizon so they can slap me with some goofy "upgrade" fee - to activate special 5G Sim I've been avoiding for years. (Yeah, I know I just dropped $$$ on a new phone, its the needless nickel & diming nonsense from carriers that make me mental!)
I used our existing sim card for my wife's iphone 12 and she got 5G right away.

You “should” be able to swap and call them to providing it for 5G.

I've found that there are two types of people in this world. People who just ignore emails they don't care about and leave them in their inbox forever, unread, to accumulate like rabbits (not me). And people who delete unwanted emails daily to keep their inboxes clean (me).

maybe we’re just soooo popular and need to be efficient with our replies! (Obviously I’m strutting like I’m special ... soooo far from it! )

You are good to go with the sim from the XS Max.

Thing is I'm coming from a 4G XS Max.

5G, I honestly have no idea what the coverage is in my area...maybe iffy according to Verizon's Map. (Or a complete dead zone when I'm inside my local Lowe's Home Improvement store, LOL)

BUT, the super improved LTE, that is the big benefit I'm looking forward to. :)

Goddammnit, because I wasn't at home they'll try again on the next working day - I'M NOT HOME DURING WORKING HOURS. Effin UPS, always the same crap. This is why anything else but DHL sucks, with DHL you can change delivery before the first attempt has been made. But noOoOoOo, not with UPS.
Wow. I can't believe the driver didn't just leave it there. They ought to have left it due to contact-less delivery. Sorry to hear this. Hang in there.
