Yes I had a cool job for 34 years at the Illinois Geological Survey, retired in 2007. Now I am a retired geologist and paleontologist. Those are fossil trilobites which in past 10 years I narrowed my fossil collection down to. Nearly 800 different species in my office those are just ones nearby. My grandkids call it grandpa’s museum LOL

Are you able to pick and choose what’s transferred in direct transfer?

I don’t want all my pictures, just some I can airdrop and the rest are going on an external drive.

I've found that there are two types of people in this world. People who just ignore emails they don't care about and leave them in their inbox forever, unread, to accumulate like rabbits (not me). And people who delete unwanted emails daily to keep their inboxes clean (me).

I’m so busy that it’s hard to keep up. I do try to delete at least 500-1000 emails a day.

Yep! Mine's doing the same thing. Literally three streets over but 2:45pm - 6:45pm delivery time. Guess I watch "UPS TV" all day 🤪

Don’t give up mine just updated to OUT FOR DELIVERY because I started to think uh oh

Where are you located? I am in NY and it’s past noon and still at “Preparing for Delivery” with Destination Scanned at 2:30am mt local time. I called UPS and they said they are sorting out the packages and it will be delivered today. I don’t believe them.

Me too. I can’t find a definition of that on the ups site either. Someone said it could still be on the delivery trailer. And delivery today is now “Estimated”. I think somewhere in Alaska it missed a clearance milestone and has behind ever since. For part of the trip it showed an exception. Did yours also show an exception?

The exception is a hold  places on your delivery - so that there is no way for UPS to deliver early...

Wow never used the direct phone to phone transfer before it is slick, no problems except one credit card would not take in the wallet will do that later. It is transferring all the data, apps ect. With iOS 14.1 on both 11 Pro max right, and my new 12 Pro Max (left) and it works so will update just the 12 Pro Max later to 14.2 when this is done do not need to be on 14.2 with both systems or either so smooth

Picked mine up from the UPS customer center right after they opened. I wasn't trying to be first in line, this was just the only window I had available, but as a result I had my iphone mini setting up before 8:30 AM on the East Coast!

The very nice guy at the counter in the distribution center was saying he always knows when it's iphone day! And sneaker drops are the other big one. He knew that I had the mini (at least, that I had the cheaper phone that was being sent out today) because the PMs are marked as "high value" and the packages are stored under lock and key. I wonder what the threshold is for that -- maybe $1000?

No it was every thing, only specifics were my Apple ID for applications store purchases, my zip code and social security for wallet (and. My passcode) and a Siri and Face ID setup, rest automatic no way to leave stuff out like a Mac restore allowed for major areas. I do not keep my whole picture collection just special albums and recents so that is not issue for me. I have all my music though...

They’re exactly the same weight, but since it’s thinner and the service area is bigger, it feels lighter in the hand. Can’t wait to hold mine!

it feesl lighter for sure, cant even tell the diference in size from 11pm. But so much better to hold, but over time will the sides feel like they are digging into hand?! who knows, but for now i love it...

So I received an email from UPS yesterday that I have a scheduled delivery for today. When looking at tracking information this morning, it says it was loaded onto a delivery vehicle but the status doesn’t say anything about being out for delivery? It just lists “Destination Scan” and “In Transit.” I can’t imagine it sitting on the truck for over five hours without the vehicle starting any deliveries? Maybe the status just didn’t get updated?

The trucks at my CC were leaving out the parking lot as I was pulling in at 9:50am. They look like they were on their way to start their deliveries so it’s possible.

Y’all I am in tears with how beautiful this phone is. Just stunning, so so beautiful! Whew Apple overdelivered on this color. I‘m still updating and setting up, but I wanted to capture how crazy the color changes are with the Pacific Blue. I took pictures in different light and these are without filters or anything applied. I’m not a pro so no studio quality here.
