Does anyone know how to track by reference on UPS so I get tracking on my exchange (replacement) ?
Set up a UPS My Choice account. Otherwise reference numbers are assigned by the shipper and can only be tracked by them. Apple and others are sometimes not consistent in what reference numbers they use. Why wouldn't you have the actual tracking number if you have a reference number. Neither will do you any good until it actually starts moving through the UPS system.

I'm guessing that it's stored in the warehouse now in the U.S it could either be FEDEX or UPS.

I don't understand what OP's trying to do. You can set up a UPS My Choice Account or a FedEx account and track packages being sent to your address, as long as a UPS or FedEx label has been created for the shipment. A UPS or FedEx "Reference" number is only created when a shipment is created. And IF it has shipped, Apple will have sent you tracking information. There is nothing to track otherwise. There are millions of iPhones store all over the world in a "warehouse" somewhere. If you are talking about a "case" number or an "order" number, there is no way to track where an actual specific phone is that you might be getting.

It's possible that even the label is created, it won't show up. Typically if you order apple product in the morning and delivers the next day and it's UPS, they may provide you the tracking number but it won't update till past 6 pm for actual tracking to appear.

I'm sure this guy does have UPS my choice but with the recent changes, tracking info is very limited. As stated, if it's being shipped directly from the warehouse in the U.S, it will be Fedex or UPS. Sometimes apple can delay in providing tracking info.

He specifically asked about UPS “reference “ number tracking. Bottom line, till package is in the system he can’t.

Likely because 1. Tracking isn't created yet or 2. It could be Fedex.

Edit: Also if this guy had UPS My Choice App on his iPad and with all the correct address, it would just appear once the label is created.

Originally ordered iPhone 12 Pro Graphite 256gb from Apple on 12/31 and was told 2 to 3 weeks - Jan 25 to Feb 1 - for delivery. Found it at Walmart today - $150 cheaper - arriving 1/8. Cancelled Apple order. First time ordered an iPhone from Walmart. Fingers crossed

I guess you didn't read my response(s) to his initial question. Oh well

Do online orders from the USA ship from China still or come from a USA warehouse?
It depends. Usually by now, since most apple stores have in stock and most orders already went out to customers, any excessive stocks will now be stored at the warehouses waiting to be distributed. So if you order online, it will likely come from a warehouse in the U.S

Thanks. I took your advice and ordered and pickup up a replacement earlier today from the Apple Store. All good.

I planned on picking up my 12 Pro graphite after Christmas. I was visiting my parents for the holidays in Dayton and the nearest Apple store didn't have the 12 Pro graphite with 256gb in stock — they had all of the other colors (silver, gold, pacific blue) with the 256gb in stock but not what I wanted. On Tuesday, December 29th I was making the 2.5 hour drive back home and then I just decided to check on the Apple's shopping app and that Apple store had the 12 Pro graphite, 256 in stock. ugh! I decided to pick up the 12 Pro at the nearest Apple store which is about 45 minutes away from me (I live a little bit north of Columbus) and Thankfully they had the 12 Pro 256 graphite in stock. I didn't want to do delivery — mostly because I'm impatient and way too hyped up for the 12 Pro. So I was glad I was able to pick it up at the store.

I upgraded from my 11 Pro to the 12 Pro. I didn't trade in my 11 Pro, so I'm keeping it as a backup. I upgraded mostly because I love the flat edges of the phone. In my opinion it's easier to grip the phone better. I kept dropping my phone a lot with the curved edges. Also, since I'm Deaf, I use FaceTime a lot. So I upgraded for the upgraded front-facing camera for FaceTime and I've been loving it. I'm also having fun with the LiDAR camera on the back and the improved three cameras and night mode. I'm a graphic designer and a photographer so I've been really enjoying the proRAW feature on the 12 and I got extremely excited with that because of being able to have more creative control over the images. The slightly bigger screen on the 12 is super nice too. This'll be the last big Apple purchase for awhile!

Happy New Year!!! After having my Pro Max for a month and a half, I’m now on the fence if I’m going to upgrade again this year. It all depends on what Apple bring to the table with this year’s upgrade. I love the color and this phone so much I don’t want to part with it or use another device
I'm probably not going to upgrade again this year. I upgraded from my 11 pro to the 12 pro and I mainly upgraded because of the upgraded front-facing camera for FaceTime since I'm Deaf, better screen and the flat edges since I can grip it better than the curved edges. I wear Cochlear implants and I like to listen to music with my special audio 'headphones' that plugs into my implants and then into the phone. My cochlear implants are bluetooth but the connection with the bluetooth and my implants aren't the strongest so I've always had a hard time with it. When the rumors came about on how Apple is planning on making a portless phone, I hated that idea. Most Deaf people who wears hearing devices don't have bluetooth capabilities yet because they're far more expensive than iPhones and its hard to upgrade to the new hearing device because you have to get insurance approval, then doctor and audiologist approvals, etc and its a whole ordeal. Over the ear headphones doesn't work great with hearing devices because they're just uncomfortable. So I decided to upgrade to the 12 Pro now because I have no idea whether the next phone would be portless or not. I figured its better now than later and avoid the headache dealing with the portless phones in my situation.

Happy New Year!!!

Hoping to see most of you back in September 2021 to pre-order iPhone 12s/13 🤗 🤗

I wish I could upgrade every year but I'll still be here next year to vicariously enjoy the ride through everyone else :) My wife and I are on a staggered 4 year upgrade cycle so I'll be back in 2022 for her phone and then again in 2024 for my next phone. Now that the year has flipped I keep telling myself that it is only 3 years away 😂 I'm very happy with my Pro Max so it should be able to hold me till then.

And you can't activate it? Did you call Apple? I think you should create a separate thread for this. lol
