Thanks for the reply, strange how not seeing it in the UK
Don’t think it’s strange. If you go on the Apple website and navigate to the AirPods Pro section in each of these different countries, you’ll see that the UK makes no mention of the hearing aid function or the hearing test. Whereas, for example, the NL site does.

Doesn’t look like it’s coming to the UK any time soon

Took the test just now - nice to know at 61, virtually no loss to-date :)

OTOH, I don't get to try this fun new feature :/ as it won't activate unless you reach a certain threshold of loss.

As a hearing aid user, airpods fail on battery life. All the audiologists tell you you should put the hearing aids in when you wake up, and pull them out when you go to bed. This is to ensure you get used to them with the different audio reality. Putting them in only when you feel like you need them is not advised.

If you are new to hearing aids, yes, it may be a good idea to wear them for most of the day, so you get used to the sound levels, and don't get disoriented by, for example, putting them on suddenly in a noisy environment. But once you are used to them, and know what to expect when you put them on, I don't see much point in wearing them unless I'm actively trying to listen to something -- conversation, TV, music, etc. I'm certainly not going to torture myself by having them on in the subway!
