I got approved last Thursday, ordered the physical card same-day. Can’t remember if it said it’d be here in 3–5 days or if it’d ship in 3–5 days, but either way, it’s late because it still hasn’t shipped.

Got in touch with support and all they’ll say is that it’s been ordered.

Had a friend get approved Monday and he received his physical card today. Leave it to Goldman to screw this up.
[doublepost=1566010263][/doublepost]I was approved last Wednesday. 9 days later and the card still has not shipped to me. No one has been able to tell me why. I’ve used messages to talk to GS but no one has been too helpful.

Good to hear I'm not the only one. Wish they had something more to say than "it's been ordered."

If this is some veiled knock on me it's very unwelcome. I was "paying attention" but since I do not have a mailbox at my physical address so I requested a change of billing address afterward. It was the next day that I noticed they said that they cannot ship to my address. If I had known that the card would be delivered via FedEx (again, no mention of this) I would have left my address alone as FedEx does deliver to my house, just not USPS.
I wasn't knocking you I just meant paying attention as in not just clicking buttons and going through setup as most of us do lol

I just got rejected, with an 850 credit score. The reason was my "expenses were too high for my income". Seriously... I pay my credit cards off in full each month - I don't carry a balance. And then there's that credit score, which is apparently good for nothing....

That’s just stupid. With a credit score that high you’ve clearly demonstrated trustworthiness, regardless of your income. Is it possible you have placed a freeze with the credit agency? Not sure if that comes back as a denial or it specifically tells you your file is frozen.

On its face this does sound like a mistake on their part. There are glitches with this rollout everywhere.

But some things to consider:

Are you a heavy user of credit cards? It's possible that your credit utilization was too high at the time they looked at your credit. I find this a little annoying myself because, like you, I have excellent credit and always pay my cards off each month. However, I see that my credit score can be negatively affected if my utilization is high at the moment they "snap" to update my credit score. A way to avoid this is to make weekly payments on your cards to ensure your utilization is lower on average.

Another thing to look at is your overall credit limit. You may have across all your cards too high of an available credit limit in comparison to your income.

You should try again. Good luck to you!

If he doesn't carry a balance I don't see why utilization alone would cause a denial. Like of you always pay on time and have an excellent score you think that one thing wouldn't effect it

I agree credit utilization alone probably isn't it. But it is a consideration. Credit utilization is about 30% of your score. Suppose he has $20k of available credit. He has a lot of bills and puts a good portion on credit for say, points. He pays it off at the end of the month, every month. But if his utilization is relatively high during the month, and especially when he applies, it could be a factor. He said he has an 850 credit score but is that 850/850 (nearly impossible to get) or 850/900? Either way it is considered excellent but one is much harder to attain.

It's more likely having to do with a number of factors. For instance, available credit vs income and debt-to-income ratio. He didn't mention how much available credit he had vs. income. For instance, if you have $100k in available unsecured credit but only $50k/yr in income this is going to make creditors nervous. He also didn't mention if he had a mortgage. If he has a high payment how much is left to pay off additional credit?

There's a lot of things in play here and this is all just speculation. Honestly, I'm just trying to point out other factors that borrowers may not realize affect their ability to get new credit.

I have a REALLY hard time believing you have an 850 AND got declined

I messaged GS again today and they suggested I cancel my card order and then order it again. I took their advice and had them cancel the order and then I went back to the card in my wallet and ordered a physical card again. After I placed the new order I received an email saying my card was ordered and it would ship soon. I didn’t receive an email about it being ordered with my initial approval. Hoping it actually ships this time.

I never got an email about ordering the physical card... but I've gotten alerts from Apple and UPS that it's on the way... will be delivered tomorrow.

I also never got an email. I might give this a try.

I never got an email about ordering the physical card either. I did notice over the weekend that in Wallet, in the Apple Card settings there where two messages. One which I cannot remember as it is gone now but another that I swiped over to that said "Cannot Deliver Your Physical Card". This is how I find out? On a chance that I'm so OCD that I went into settings and swiped over to a note?

I updated my address but the message was still there this morning. I messaged Apple/GS and the rep said they requested that the card be sent to me expedited.

Still no email saying its on the way but understandable as it's Sunday.

Ok, so, today the message saying "Cannot Deliver Your Physical Card" disappeared from my wallet but I got a new message asking me to order a platinum card. I guess my original request was dropped so I went ahead and did so. This time around I got an email confirming my order and that I should receive it in 3-5 days. Also of note, I had to "re-register" my Apple Card as the default for Apple purchases. Not sure why that happened but I guess it is somehow related.

It worked! Shipped today and should be here Thursday.

So you got an email that it actually shipped? I received a message yesterday that I should receive it in 3-5 days. But then, a few hours later I got another email saying it couldn't be shipped to a P.O. Box. My current billing address is not a P.O. Box. I don't know if that 2nd email was just very delayed (when I had a P.O. Box as the billing address) or if they still have erroneous information. Typing this question into chat window got a canned response.

I got a notification this evening saying it had shipped (no email yet), but the Wallet app gave me a tracking number earlier today. UPS now shows it as in transit.

If you're not seeing a message in the Wallet app about the card pending shipping or having shipped, you may want to contact support to cancel the order, after which you should be able to immediately reorder in the Wallet app.

Thanks. My Wallet says "Your Card Has Been Ordered. You will be notified when your card has shipped." I did speak with someone via chat after I posted that and they confirmed my address in their system is not a P.O. Box but didn't have an ETA. I guess I'll just have to wait a few days to see what happens.

It's so dumb that I feel like I have to keep on them about this. The other day I was told that my address was corrected and that they requested "expedited handling" only to have it cancelled the next day. And at that time I request a card again. I wonder if this is just some experiment for Apple/GS to see who is the most tenacious.

If you’re past the 3–5 day window, I’d just go ahead and cancel the order and reorder.
