FWIW, I used to have problems on order day with Apple Card + advanced security (rotating CVV) because an old CVV got stuck in my profile.

This was a good laugh for today.. I have never heard of anyone being blacklisted from ordering at apple…. But are you OK now?!?!
I could see it happening. I am not saying in every case it is or even in this case. But Apple thinks Apple is always right and someone who challenges them could easily be censored from purchases. This is a common tactic in life to not have issues in the future.

Now is this the case in this case? Probably not. I had a problem with Amazon the last time I was in the States. I had ordered a sleeve. No matter what I did and how many times I contacted Amazon it would get canceled and I was told my payment was invalid. I had purchased several other things from Amazon with the same payment method. Eventually, I saw that the sleeve was not in stock and shipping from a third party. I believe the order was being canceled for that reason as any other order I put in goes through fine.

If I had this user’s problem, I would use a different email address and card to place the order. Don’t need a new iCloud account or anything. And really if a company treated me this badly, as to actually ban me from purchasing, I wouldn’t buy their crap ever again. I would be happy to do that with Apple in every situation except the Mac. I don’t care about the iPhone or iPad and they can shove their Vision Pros and other crap. But I would be stuck without Macs with work.

Anyways, would love to know what the actual situation is and not saying the OP is not stating their side accurately. Just saying there’s something missing in same fashion.

I just looked on the John Lewis website, and they sell unlocked iPhones.

I wonder if they have them at launch?
Yes, they tend to have them at launch but again you should pre-order.

Re. the block, may I just check if you’ve double-checked it’s not to do with your payment method? Last year I bought the 16 Plus shortly after launch, didn’t like it when it arrived and arranged a return but then immediately tried to buy the Pro with the same card, the payment wouldn’t go through. I suspect you don’t have this issue but just thought it’s worth mentioning.

Best of luck with getting this resolved.

Thanks.

I’ve been in touch with my bank, and they said there was a block on my card.

They removed the block, but the same thing happened with Apple.

I even tried my other card, from another bank, to no joy.

I also tried adding funds to my Apple account, which I did successfully, but even orders placed with said credit were denied/cancelled.

Now I know I can pre-order SIM free iPhones from other shops, I’ll just do that.

I can buy stuff from Apple Stores, I’ve used both cash and Apple Pay. But Apple Stores and Apple online are actually two different companies.

It was stressing me for quite a while, but now I just think **** them.

OP, hope you’re doing better.
From what I read Apple, as they have stated, has not blocked you. It was your payment method that we now know did have a block on it. Give it time and hopefully things get back to normal.
It does sound like your store will have walk in sales on launch day. Which phone are you thinking of getting?
All the best.

bruv is it a credit card or a debit card that you’re using?

How many different cards had you tried to curb that billing issue, mate?

Apple will never blacklisted anyone for a couple of straps... I don't want to be rude but something is off here.
Well, funny story.
In 2016 I had the iPhone SE. It had display problems and I send it in for replacement. The replacement had the same problem, so did it’s replacement and the ones after that. I had 6 SE‘s, 6. But even the last one I got had the same issue and I wanted to have that one replaced, too. Btw it’s not like I used them for a bit, I got in touch with Apple Support the same day I get each replacement.
With the last one, all of a sudden sending in products wasn’t available for my location anymore…
Don’t ask me why.

Hmmm....OK, who ever his buddy is here that has posted knowledge of the OP, I would suggest visiting him and calling Apple in his presence and attempt to resolve this. One, or multiple cards flagged for fraud, due to others having the card number, would likely also flag the owner of those cards as 'problematic'. Your garden variety Apple support person may not have access to this information as the matter falls into some privacy and legal concerns. This may well be an identity theft issue also.

This is an issue that should have never played out on this forum. IMO.

That’s the situation.

I’m from the states so cannot do that.

but  should escalate it to the corporate level.

The uk 🇬🇧 has an  headquarters in a vintage steam factory. 🏭

Straps are what we call bands, in the UK.
Well, even with that, and I am a native speaker from these isles of ours - (and not least because the term I am familiar with is "watch strap", as the word 'strap' - as both noun and verb - can also carry other meanings), the term you used in your original post had me somewhat stumped, (puzzled) as well.

Agreed that it was confusing. In the watch subforum, when people say "strap" or "band" it's obvious they are talking about watch straps/bands. But this is the iPhone subforum. So people don't have the context that the OP is an avid watch band collector.

Basically, I have mental health issues, and I had a psychotic episode.

I was hallucinating, and was very unwell.

I was unboxing new watch straps, when police and paramedics arrived at my place.

There were boxes all over the floor, and I was completely disoriented.

I was forced out of my place, by the police, because the paramedics said I didn’t have capacity to stay safe.

I was taken to hospital.
Hope you're doing better now and possibly on terrific medication to stop further episodes. A person close to me had a few episodes and it was one of the most stressful experiences I'd had in a long time, trying to get my country's 911 to understand how messed up he was. Was never diagnosed with schizophrenia though so it might have been a combination of alcohol and bipolar.

I'm glad you're feeling so good now that you are still able to feel bothered by (not) getting Apple products. 🙂

Thanks, and I hope your friend is doing well.

I can still buy stuff from the Apple Store.
