We are talking specifically about PO releated to home button, not PO in general because that's a bigger can of worms. Every older device on iOS 11 has stuttters
Right, not about the theory that didn’t pan out, just about a new deflection where the goalposts have been moved.

Yet, still, the failure of the one that didn’t pan out, which was argued just as “robustly” should be remembered.

It was instant on iOS 10 and I posted a video of it on the 1st page. Instant,no lag,no pause and I can confirm that setting click speed to slower on iOS 10 equals the speed of default click speed on iOS 11
Not was being argued back in the early iOS 10 days. Certainly convenient to overlook that and deflect when it’s brought up. Pretty much how it always works out when things don’t pan out.

The electric current has to pass through idtouch/home button that is connected to a tiny processor, some wires, different circut...etc etc. Thus there is a slight delay...
Good god!!! :D:D:D:p

It wasn’t instant at the end of the iOS 10 cycle. When it was instant early in iOS 10 people cried about that too. It was fast. Faster than it currently is in iOS 11 but that’s why it is a bug in iOS 11.

Go back and read

It’s really not very complicated.
It is still instant. I'm on my 7 10.3.3 and it sure is instant.

I compared with my 7 Plus, I couldn't even tell a difference.

IMO not worth a upgrade unless your on 6/6s or earlier.
Even 6S is fine honestly.
Thanks for the info. That sucks. So the 7 on 10.3.3 is indeed faster at closing apps for the time being and probably forever.

Not forever, it will be fixed around .2 like usual. The 7 last year had similar issues and was fixed.

There you go folks, proof that Apple wants us to buy iPhone X.

Mystery solved.

:p
Actually just proof/confirmation the 7 is faster on 10.3.3 at closing apps is all I was looking for.

The 7 only had an animation hiccup but the button responded instantly all along until iOS 11. This is different as the timing has changed for the phone to actually just start the animation.

All in all I hope they just switch the timing back when they bring back the 3D Touch multi tasking. That would be nice.

Its different but having bugs on new phones on new software is pretty common. You dont get the full polished experience until several sub releases.

If it was instant by the time you double clicked it'd already be doing the closing animation. People did not like it when it did that (see the link I posted earlier). I own a 7+. I owned it all through ios 10. I remember how it worked. I remember how it got fixed.

You backed the wrong horse but whatever you're trying to do now isn't saving face, it's just digging another hole.

Yup. Exactly. Mine still behaves the same way on 10.3.3. If you double click a little slower the close animation is already happening and then the multitasking bounces up. Looks kind of weird but it's still there to this day on 10.3.3.

They just tweaked the weird animation a little bit to look better in 10.3.

Um. Which horse are we talking about here?

Good grief. You read the bit about me having one, right?

OK. I'm done. The facts are established. Nothing more to say until the next beta.

So you'd be able to say with confidence your 7+ closed apps faster on 10.3.3 compared to iOS 11?
Oh yes no doubt, IOS 11 overall is sluggish, especially compared to IOS 10.3.3

EDIT: I have an old iPhone 6 on 10.3.3, it also closes apps faster.

On the other hand IOS 11 on my iPad air 2 has been good.

But that kind of reality isn’t as exciting as one where conspiracies can be imagined, adjusted, and attributed to it all.
