As I left the Apple Store at International Plaza in Tampa (11AM), they were unloading one heck of a delivery from UPS. They had police surrounding the van as it was unloaded and it went directly into their back door. Perhaps some of the delayed deliveries.
The ‘protection’ could have been the ‘logistics’ issue.
 
I chose pickup for today and received my email that it's ready. However, I can't pick it up until Sunday. Do you think they keep it there for me, or they'll sell it to walk-ins?
 
Has anyone with a delayed pickup window yesterday had any news today? Still sitting here with zero information about when I can pick up and Apple Support basically said "it might be today, it might be Monday, it might not."

Mine was going nowhere...still no update this morning. I went back on the Apple store app and saw that they had availability to pick up today. I bought the phone again and picked it up. The only difference was that this one is AT&T and the one that is lost in space somewhere was unlocked.

That’s where I’m at (even to the point of going with a 256 model since they have no 64 stock) but with the whole iPhone Upgrade Program I can’t start a new order for the phone unless I cancel the other and I don’t even see a cancel option at this stage.

I’m not sure about the upgrade program rules, but I just now canceled the phone that was delayed and had to do it through the website. The Apple store app didn’t have the option.
 
At my local Apple store when I was there this morning (Saturday), UPS Driver was unloading all the iphone in the customer entry of the Apple store, only to be told that by an apple employee that UPS driver needs to take to the back entrance.

Yesterday, they were unloading with 4-5 police surrounding the UPS van through the back entrance at the store in Tampa. They want these orders securely delivered.
