The snowball continues downhill, and getting larger... headed for the hole Apple keeps right on digging for itself.

I honestly wish I could ask Steve Jobs: "What the hell are you doing, seriously?"

I wonder how he'd respond...

Apple censors comments all the time on their forums.

What they don't delete, the local overzealous fans attack.

Back when the first price drop hit, they must've deleted literally thousands of angry posts before Jobs caved in and offered store vouchers.

Part of it is understandable, since they claim they only want Help questions and answers. What they need is a section for other comments.

The Consumer Reports "Don't Buy" is on just about every news channel tonight.

Apple deleting threads/posts is like trying to buy all the newspapers so nobody will read the headlines

this is a new low for apple.

they are reacting in a way that they are almost desperate.

they cant admit to ONE issue from the multitude of issues for the iPhone4?

Don't they realize that all they have to do is admit there is an issue, and things would be ok, as it is the first version of a new phone.

well off to the apple forums i go and spam them to death.

EVERY Apple owner or POTENTIAL OWNER has a RIGHT to see pertinent information about a product they are about to purchase. To censor the message boards is almost criminal.

It's actually nothing like that because they are only deleting threads from its site. Let me know when Apple starts bullying other sites to pull down the CR report and your statement might make more sense.

I think Apple VPs and Lawyers are telling Steve the same thing. Apologize, fix, recall, voucher whatever, and move on.

Steve's arrogance is in the way and up till now he won't.
Maybe Consumer Reports and the ongoing joking about iPhone 4 in the media, especially if it hits the foreign press, will change his mind.

Comedy Central yanking the 'eyePhone' reference from that episode of Futurama recently is pretty damning evidence that Apple is on a tear to make sure anything anywhere that paints iPhones or Apple itself in a negative light are stomped, fast.

That 'eyePhone' thing was pure parody and protected 110% by Federal law here in the US, they had no legitimate reason to yank it or remove any references to it nor were they legally obliged to remove it regardless of what Apple Legal may have tossed at 'em but, magically, it up and vanished like a fart in the wind.

If you think Apple didn't have a hand in it, or a direct call from Steve Jobs didn't happen, you're sadly mistaken. While it's not the CR report, it IS iPhone related, and it was a pretty heavy handed tactic on their part...

Er...I TiVoed that ep. late last week. The broadcast rerun I watched was not censored. Can't tell you why the net version was. However I can tell you my post above was in reference to the CR report. That is the subject of this thread, right? Stay on point dude.

This is ridiculous. Apple should only be able to remove posts that violate the terms of service of their forum. Please show me where in their terms of service they state that you cannot post links to articles which negatively review their products.

If it's Apple, and it's something they're censoring or causing to be censored, it IS on point, "dude."

Have Apple suck-ups like Walt Mossberg commented on the iPhone 4 issues since their original reviews came out?

He wouldn't dare I know.... but the other supposed journalists?

I guess they know that they will be Gizmodo'd for future Apple events if they dare speak out.

It's a non issue. There were never any posts on our forum. Try posting something else.

Here are the facts as I see them:

-It's a hardware issue.

-Apple doesn't see it as that big of a deal.

-They will try to solve whatever they can through software, but they AREN'T going to recall millions of units because of it.

And that's that.

I should have known someone would take that track and make a post, didn't realize it would be you (and your thread too). :D

Now if you can verify the headers, we're on our way! :p JUST KIDDING...

LOL! Seriously what say you? I know I'm new but you seem like one of the top apple apologists on here. That post made me laugh. Should the op create an entirely new thread for an already played out topic for you answer the question?

Headers are a non issue. Just send emails without headers. It saves bytes.

Well, I think Apple is trying to keep the boards clean for people who have issues and need help. I'm sure if you post JB and Unlock methods on the boards, they'd be removed too.

OK. I'm quoting from the very last paragraph:

Apple reserves the right to delete any Submission, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason.

Basically it's Apple site so they can publish or not whatever posts they want.

If it's Apple, and it's something they're censoring or causing to be censored, it IS on point, "dude."

I think you have a problem understanding what being "on point" means then. Also please show proof Apple had any involvement regarding the online editing if you insist changing to that topic. What I wrote originally in this thread, however, was in regard to the CR report being "banned" from the Apple site. To that you throw out Comedy Central. That is has nothing to do with my point, hence you are off point. BTW since we are going off point, you do realize there are no AXP board members w/ 27 years tenure, right?
