For the longest time I have been having problems with Apple mail.
A while ago I had a problem with the accounts. For some stupid reason, accounts used to have the checkbox "Use only this server" (for SMTP servers) unchecked by default, and what happened is I tried to send a letter, and the connection to the SMTP server failed for that account, so it used the SMTP server of a different account and send it with that email address. I was trying to send a letter through my game/social account, but instead it sent through a personal account!!
And let the email address out in the open.
Later that checkbox became checked by default.
(So stupid)
But anyway, that was then. I've always had minor problems where mail would not give me all my mail, and only give some of it, until one day it will dump all those old messages.
Well, just recently, instead of having all my accounts forward mail to one account, I changed it back to having separate accounts so I can send mail with one of those accounts instead of having to log into Gmail webmail.
And I've been having constant problems with having 5 accounts. Almost everytime it would fail to connect, or not fail but say there is no mail when there actually is.
But just now, actually for the past few days while I left my computer running all this time for SiteSucker to do it's thing, Mail has not given me mail for some of my accounts. It almost always gives me my mail for my first account, my personal account, but not for the others, the social ones where I get the most mail.
It just said there was no mail, and occasionally give me some emails, but then the rest of the time wouldn't.
So then I logged into webmail and found TONS of mail in my accounts!! And I found one mail in my personal account that Mail already gave me and I already read.
There's been many other problems too... I've also had frequent login problems where Systen Preferneces would ask me to login to google for the 3 social accounts, when it is already logged in!
Bloody hell, this is the last straw, I'm finished for this stupid piece of crap software!! Nothing but trouble with this garbage!! Richest frogging company in the world, can't even make decent email program!!
Well that's the end of my rant.
Any other good email programs out there? I tried Dropbox's Mailbox but that's in beta and I don't really like how it works (they have an idea that you should delete emails from your inbox as soon as you're done with them, but that's not what I do). Thunderbird... ehh... too old-fashioned. Maybe I should just use Gmail webmail and use their notifications app thing. Idk.
It really sucks that this apple mail sucks because I like the interface of it and all but it is just so glitch and buggy and it just... UGHH!!
I'm trying out different email clients. Opera Mail looks interesting.
