Comparing iphone 4 to 5 there is a difference. They upgraded to arm 64 bit and upgraded the ram to 1GB. but that doesn't compare well with lets say a HTC One max with 2GB of ram and a snapdragon cpu which seems to support ddr3 over the iphone 5s ddr2. But that doesn't necessarily mean that its UX will be better, and for that iPhone may still come out on top. But if you want to play 3d games or run emulators then that particular HTC would probably be a better choice. Also everyone I know using an iPhone 4 or 5 seem perfectly happy with their phone. I think the yearly cycle is better because it allows developers to target hardware more easily and fine tune for devices which must lead to better applications, at least potentially.

Except iPhone 5s uses DDR3 ....
Other than that, iPhone 5S has a much better GPU than HTC ONE, by far.

I meant 5s' as in the the iphone 5, yes the 5S does have ddr3 I should have compared that instead probably, the 5S is faster than the ONE max which is faster than the 5. The 5S is like %30 to %40 faster from what I have seen compared to the ONE max.
