One of the things I want to do is choose which order I want my playlists to be in. Not a major thing but it isn't possible and drives me absolutely crazy.
After all these posts I still don't see any of the issues here. AM works just fine for me.
I truly hope they are working on it. I have been using the Amazon Music player the past day (like I said, I have previous experience with it).
I have over 60k songs in my library. The library loads quickly, is fast and easy to search, the controls are big and obvious and easy to use. Browsing back and forth between my music and he Amazon streaming library is simple and intuitive. And Amazon didn't completely obliterate my metadata or scramble it with theirs (which in many ways is actually *worse*). If you are listening to a song you can go to the artist or album directly. How could Apple Music have left out such a basic, basic feature?
The lack of deep integration with iOS isn't a big deal at all it turns out. I simply removed the Music app from my dock on my laptops and iOS devices and dropped in the Amazon Music app. Offline music works exactly the same but without the annoying frustration on AM of knowing if songs are available offline (sometimes the icon is shown, sometimes not) or the complete unresponsiveness when requesting to download songs.
Frankly, I am seriously disappointed in Apple Music. I'm shocked just how poor the user experience is. So many rudimentary rules of design simply seem to have been ignored. Design matters, especially for an app that I (would have) used throughout my day, every day.
I wish I knew that there were improvements underway but I fear in typical apple fashion they've decided what's best. All I know is that it is almost completely unusable for me.
No offense, but really? Go back and read the posts. Apple Music is a mess of an interface. Just look at the giant block of text example. If you think that's okay and have no problem with that than you and I have a very different design training and aesthetic.
Interface aside, performance is just plain awful. They've scrambled the metaphor between a streaming library and a private library. Maybe you just don't understand what the issues are. But when Apple Music takes MY MUSIC, conflates it with something else entirely in its catalog, that's a big, big problem.
Hi everyone. I am considering an AM subscription, but posts like this make me nervous.
One question: does AM have the potential to ruin my current iTunes library?

Triple check you have backups before trying it, it messed up my library when I tried it when it came out, it messed up playlists, erased ratings and playcounts. I'm not sure how robust it's now, it should have gotten better, but never trust Apple on this, just make sure you got backups so you can revert if something happens.
Yes its could. Best bet is to keep a full copy of your current library. What I did was start a new library and then added my music after enabling iCloud library
If you want to enjoy this service's most convenient features, there's no way of telling Apple "put a wall between my iTunes library and Apple Music."
Just realised we had no update on Apple Music in the keynote, nor any mention of subscription numbers.
That tells a tale.
I agree. I used to go through and make sure that every album in my collection had high quality artwork so it would look amazing on my phone and iPad. I don't like the way it displays now.Using that screenshot as a reference, the transparent (and not very legible) status bar over the album art really irks me and is really distracting from the main content. Why can't the album artwork be fully unobstructed? Ya know, like before?
There were many things they didn't talk about, which is not surprising as they were not part of the keynote. If they would cover all subjects, Mr. Tim Cook would still be there talking now.Just realised we had no update on Apple Music in the keynote, nor any mention of subscription numbers.

There's a lot to fix with AM so don't get your hopes too high.I have big hopes that iTunes 12.4 – which was supposed to come out with iPad Pro 9.7" – will fix them. Hopefully the fact it's not out yet means they really are trying to get it right. Hopefully.
I know. But a boy can dreamThere's a lot to fix with AM so don't get your hopes too high.
Just send some feedback on Apple's way.
