So far off to a rough start, i go to sign in and nothing happens after. Still shows im not signed in and have none of my music lol. I guess sticking to the website for now
ALAC was publicly released in 2011, so there's that.Does the new app allow you to add a FLAC file to your music library or is it still limited to 2003’s finest audio formats?
ALAC is not an appropriate substitute and therefore not an option. The primary question stands.ALAC was publicly released in 2011, so there's that.
From the article, podcasts and audiobooks are still in iTunes.Looking at the Apple Music screenshot. Don't see podcasts. If I use Apple Podcasts, where do I access that now?
I used a symbolic link to "point" the backup folder to a different drive.
It’s not like Music on MacOS is much better. It’s a bad experienceThere's the voice of someone who has not suffered through the last few years of iTunes on Windows. Not that I have but I've watched people scratching their own eyeballs out and killing each other with blunt plastic spoons over it.
And now it's a bunch of UWP apps so it can suck even harder!
I wouldn’t say it was clunky in the pre-Apple Music days, at least on Mac. I thought it was quite good for managing an offline library. It’s way too bloated today though with the additional services and subscriptions.Except iTunes was clunky even on the Mac and especially on Windows.
Apple music runs fine on my 14 year old windows machine, 1st gen I7. Much better than iTunes did 14 years ago.

No, it still doesn't support FLAC.. just convert your files to ALAC or another lossless format. Can batch convert songs in audacity. Thats what I do anytime I upload/add FLAC files.ALAC is not an appropriate substitute and therefore not an option. The primary question stands.
Apple Music is a bad experience on any platform. It’s not like Music on MacOS is much better. It’s a bad experience
One app that performs bad vs more that perform well. I’ll take more apps.Splitting these into more apps is a worse experience for the user. I'll take one robust app over multiple any day.
As stated, converting would be a non-starter due to ALAC’s numerous shortcomings. But thank you for confirming this. The solution is to keep pushing for proper FLAC support, something absolutely no other modern media player has an issue with. People said that iTunes was “old” and Apple would never update it. This is new, and still unjustifiably limited. I wonder what new excuse they can come up with now.No, it still doesn't support FLAC.. just convert your files to ALAC or another lossless format. It's a shame Apple has half-assed this. Music app is still missing favorites and collaborative playlists. Also, while it's running well.. still a lot of bugs that have been present for over a year now.
I respectfully disagree. I prefer doing that right from the finder.I’d like to see how they did the Devices app, because holy cow syncing iPods and iPhones from the Finder in macOS is way worse than iTunes ever was.
What about Podcasts on Windows?
Came here to say the same thing. I don’t know if I’m getting older or what, but back in the day I rarely needed to look anything up to use Apple/Mac software and applications. Now I have to constantly look stuff up on the internet to find where the heck {insert common action/feature here} is.
All this stuff doesn’t seem as intuitive as it use to be. Is it just me?
